  • Comment: We don't need four sources to verify that he has announced his candidacy. We do, however, need to know where eg. his DOB comes from, as well as the information in the 'Early Life' section.
Refs 1–6 and 8–9 are his sites, meaning that fully ¾ of the citations are to sources that are not independent and may or may not be reliable. I haven't evaluated this specifically for notability, and am not declining for that reason, but I do have doubts because of the extensive use of such close primary sources. He is best-known for his videos showcasing various AK-47 style rifles, and as such has been nicknamed "The AK Guy".[2]

Early Life

Herrera was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina (now known as Fort Liberty) to a family originally from Texas. He later moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina before moving to San Antonio, Texas in 2021.[2]

As a licensed US gun manufacturer, owning a Type 07 FFL (Federal Firearms License),[3] he is the founder and owner of The AK Guy Inc,[4] as well as the founder and co-owner of Stark Media Group.

Herrera's videos on YouTube are mainly of the topic of firearms. His videos have varied, in covering the history of firearms, and how they function. His most popular videos were on the assassination of John F. Kennedy, Abraham Lincoln, the killing on the set of the movie Rust, and his series "The Worst Internet Gun Fails" respectively.[5][6][7]

On June 14, 2023, Brandon Herrera boxed against James Seller, after Youtuber "Ac7ionMann" was unable to fight,[8] at the MF & DAZN: X Series 008 in Nashville, Tennessee, in which he won in the third round.[9]

In 2023, he announced his campaign to run for congressional office against incumbent Tony Gonzalez in Texas' 23rd Congressional District.[10][11][12][13]

In November 2024, Herrera expressed interest in serving as the Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) under the second Trump Administration. Upon posting his interest for the position, Herrera received a large public interest in his following.
