Bhikkhu Sangharatna is an Indian Buddhist monk and the founder and President of the United Buddhist Mahasangha. He was born on May 13, 2000, in Aurangabad.
Introduction
[edit]Sangharatna received his schooling as a Buddhist monk. During his education he engaged in social and religious work, which he continues to this day. At the age of sixteen he went abroad to study Buddhism. After studying the Buddhist traditions there he returned to India and decided to form a large organization to unite young Buddhist boys and girls. To advance the development of the Buddhist community, he founded the United Buddhist Mahasangha on April 30, 2020. Through this organization, he is actively involved in religious and social work.
Collaboration
[edit]Sangharatna [1]is currently trying to bring together young Indians and is attempting to initiate many into the Buddhist Dharma. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar revived Buddhism in India and established the Buddhist Society of India to promote Buddhism. Based on this foundation Sangharatna has established his own organization and through this is working for the educational, industrial, social, and economic development of boys and girls.
Bhikkhu Sangharatna is involved in the movement initiated by Japanese-Indian Buddhist monk Surai Sasai which aims to hand over the Mahabodhi Mahavihara in Bodh Gaya to the Buddhists.[2]
