History
[edit]Bentleigh Uniting Cricket Club's Victory in the Cricket Victoria Statewide Twenty20 Cup
[edit]The Bentleigh Uniting Cricket Club, part of the South East Cricket Association, triumphed in the Cricket Victoria Statewide Twenty20 Cup, securing their victory on a memorable Sunday at Eastern Oval. In a decisive final, Bentleigh Uniting overcame Wendouree, restricting the Ballarat club to 7-123 and chasing down the target in under 15 overs, losing only three wickets in the process.
Bentleigh Uniting’s journey to the state title included victories over Bentleigh, Cranbourne (in a bowl-off), Ashburton Willows, and Altona North. Despite the challenge of playing away games in the turf competition, as they are based at Centenary Park in East Bentleigh with a synthetic wicket, the team consistently delivered strong performances [3]
