Balkan Hip Hop Studies (BHHS) (mac. Балкански хип-хоп студии) is an international academic journal of hip hop and urban culture, published twice a year, based in Skopje, Republic of North Macedonia.[1]

Founders of the magazine are Slavcho Koviloski and Aleksandar Koviloski, long-time hip-hop activists and members of the groups Klan Istok and Brakja po krv. Editor-in-chief is Slavcho Koviloski. The editorial board consists of university professors, some of which are also members of the organization Hip Hop Macedonia.[2]

The journal's articles refer to music, cultural studies, linguistics, literature, art, dance, history, sociolinguistics, sociology, philosophy, performative arts, pedagogy, etc. The inclusion of all these scholarly fields is to present hip hop, slam poetry, African-American culture and urban culture from different aspects and points of view.

The journal has an Open Access Policy.
