Reception

[edit]

Archika Khurana of Times Of India rated the film 3/5 and concluded "Appu is a heartfelt film with a powerful message about the importance of protecting our planet's wildlife. Visually, the film shines with its storybook-like quality, which will appeal to young audiences. However, the storytelling is predictable and amateurish for adults. While the tracks are visually captivating, they contribute to the film's length without adding much enjoyment, and the background score lacks innovation".[2]

Filmy Charcha's TFC Desk rated the film 4/5 and stated "If you’re a fan of animated movies, then “Appu” is a must-watch for you. Presented in cinemas, this movie is a visual treat that will capture your heart. While you might have seen numerous animated films, “Appu” stands out as it seamlessly weaves together the essence of storytelling and animation"[3]

Shriya Gupta of One World News reviewed the film and stated that "Movies play an important role in shaping a child’s imagination. A similar story filled with imagination is going to be seen in the film Appu. In terms of the movie itself, its theme will be one of forest and wild animal protection. In addition, we will be able to comprehend the essence of animals without voices. The promo is excellent. When it is said that intelligence is the one trait that comes in handy when things get tough. In addition, it has been said that many decisions must be made at once during challenging circumstances"[4]
