Dr. Lasway[1]
has utilized her education to establish a pioneering organization dedicated to improving the lives of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in the United States and Tanzania through advocacy, partnerships with leading behavioral health institutions, and offering behavioral health services. Addressing autism as a global issue, DECODER Health is committed to raising awareness, debunking stigmas, and reducing discrimination. Dr. Lasway's scholarly contributions include several publications on autism awareness, promoting best practices and fostering collaboration. Dr. Lasway holds an MPH and a PhD in Health Informatics, credentials that underscore her deep understanding of public health issues and the application of technology in healthcare.
Early Childhood and Education:
Dr. Annie Msuya Lasway was born as Enikunda Amanda Kokiambo Benjamin Msuya at Peramiho Hospital in rural Songea, Tanzania. She had her early childhood education in London, England where her, then Col. Benjamin Msuya was placed as a Military Attache’ for Tanzania to the United Kingdom. Dr. Lasway received has primary school education at Bunge Primary School and later achieved her O’level and A’level education at Jangwani Secondary School.
After moving to the United States, Dr. Lasway achieved her Bachelors of Science, Masters of Public Health and PhD in Health Informatics at George Mason University.
