Early Life and Education
[edit]Andrea E. Davis attended college as a single teenage mother, working graveyard shifts as a waitress to support her family. These experiences influenced her dedication to community and personal resiliency.
Davis has an AA degree from Shasta College, a BA degree from CSU, Chico and a MS degree from Penn State University.
Career
[edit]Andrea E. Davis is the Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The Resiliency Initiative (TRI)[1], a certified Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB). TRI provides crisis and risk mitigation planning to help small businesses and communities achieve self-reliance. Davis has over 25 years of experience in emergency management, business continuity, and public health, serving in public, private, and non-profit sectors across multiple industries and regions.
Professional Experience
[edit]Davis led global crisis management for Fortune 500 companies, including The Walt Disney Company[2] and Walmart[3]. She managed enterprise-wide programs addressing natural disasters, pandemics, cyberattacks, and social unrest.
In the public sector, Davis served as the External Affairs Director for the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Louisiana Recovery Office following Hurricane Katrina, overseeing a $25 billion recovery portfolio. Additionally, she served as the Emergency Manager for the 12th District of the Federal Reserve.
Davis was the first woman to serve in each role listed above.[4] [5] [6]
Published Work
[edit]In July 2023, Davis published her first book, I Only Remember Grievances and Desserts: What I Learned from the Cretins, Douchebags, and Vipers So Far. Released by Austin Macauley Publishing[7], it blends professional development insights with personal anecdotes and recipes inspired by workplace experiences.
