Amy Bateman (born 3 February 1978) is an award winning photographer noted for her agriculture portrait and landscape photography.
Born in Yorkshire in 1978, she graduated in 1999 with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from Northumbria University. Since 2007 she has assisted her husband to run their upland fell farm near Kendal in Cumbria.
Since 2019 she has been offering professional commercial photography via Amy Bateman Ltd. Delivering creative, storytelling imagery, specialising in capturing people, places and artisan products on camera. She has both a fully equipped photographic studio and portable studio equipment for outside shoots. Amy regularly runs photography workshops at her farm and locations across the Lake District and Cumbria.
Award winning, Bateman, has won numerous accolades for her photography work; including Fotospeed Photographer of the Year (2018), British Life Photographer of the Year (2019), Lakeland Book of the Year - Forty Farms (2023), British farming Awards - Diversification of the Year (2023), Cumbria Farmer Awards - Woman in Agriculture (2023), Cumbria Farm Community Awards - Best Woman in Agriculture (2023).
Her publicationForty Farms - Conversations of change in the landscapes of Cumbria was published by Inspired by Lakeland in September 2022.
In 2022 she was a curator of Forty Farms exhibition which has so far been at Rheged, Windermere Jetty Museum and opens at the Food Museum, Stowmarket in Suffolk in May 2024.
In 2024 she was the curator of Forty Farms outdoor exhibition trail which is displayed along the farm trail at Low Sizergh Barn.
