Aleksandar PavloviĆ (also nicknamed "Aca" Pavlović; Serbian Cyrillic: ) was a Serbian Chetnik who fought in the Macedonian Struggle of liberation of Serbian-populated provinces (what Turks popularly call vilayets and sanjaks) in the Ottoman Empire, particularly in Old Serbia and Macedonia.
Biography
[edit]Born in Belgrade, Aleksandar was the son of Metropolitan Inokentije Pavlović and the brother of painter Dragoljub Pavlović. He was well educated, having graduated from Grande ecole and the Military Academy before joining the Serbian Chetnik Organization.
As a member of the Chetniks, he was armed by the mountain staff headquarters and participated in numerous conflicts with the Turkish Army, their supporters the Albanian Kachaks, and VMRO exarchists terrorists. In his last deployment, he met his fate in Kučevište on 27 July 1907.
Legacy
[edit]He is one of many early Chetniks who are credited by the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes and the Kingdom of Yugoslavia for liberating Serbian-populated provinces in Old Serbia and North Macedonia.
