Alakh Pandey is an Indian entrepreneur and teacher. Alakh is the co-founder and CEO of Physics Wallah, an Indian educational technology company based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. [1][2][3][4]
Early Life
[edit]Alakh was born in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, on October 2, 1991, the son of Satish Pandey, a private contractor and Rajat Pandey, a teacher. Alakh did his schooling at Bishop Johnson School and College, Prayagraj, till 2010 and later, he went to study Mechanical Engineering from Harcourt Butler Technical University, Kanpur in 2011. But, he dropped out of university in his third year.
Career
[edit]While Alakh was in 11th standard, he started giving tuition at an educational institute in Allahabad at Rs.5000 per month.
In 2016, Alakh started his YouTube channel, Physics Wallah and started uploading lectures of physics and chemistry for classes 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th and pan-Indian exams like JEE, NEET and boards exams of CBSE and ICSE. In 2019, he launched the website and mobile application of Physics Wallah. As of 2022, his channel has more than 9 million subscribers.
In 2020, Alakh incorporated his youtube channel to Physics Wallah, an Indian educational technology company and co-founded it with Prateek Maheshwari, an IIT-BHU alumni.[5]
Physics Wallah, became India's sixth edtech unicorn company, in 2022.[6][7]

[edit]A web series, 'Physics Wallah' based on Pandey and journey of PW via his YouTube Channel, was streamed on Amazon miniTv.[8][9]
He was also seen in a popular Indian sitcom, Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah in a guest appearance. (Ep-3507)[10]
