Akbar Ali Gazi (August 18, 1965 – June 29, 2024) was a Bangladeshi singer whose remarkable journey from rickshaw puller to stardom captured the nation’s heart. His soulful voice and resilience left an indelible mark on the music industry.[1][2]

Early Life

Born in Jashore, Bangladesh, Akbar led a humble life as a rickshaw puller. Despite lacking formal training, his innate musical abilities caught the attention of locals.

The “Ittadi” Breakthrough

In 2003, Akbar’s life changed when he was invited to perform on the popular TV show “Ittadi.” His renditions of Kishore Kumar’s Songs, including “Ekdin Pakhi Ure Jabe”[3]and “Tomar Haat Pakhar Batase,”[4] resonated with audiences nationwide.[5]
