Moulay Ahmed (? - 1687 ), or Moulay Ahmed ben Mourad Mehrez , member of the Alaouite dynasty , is a famous rebel known for having confronted his uncle Mouley Ismaïl for nearly thirteen years . He was finally killed in 1687 , after the siege of Taroudant initiated by his uncle . He was for a time Emir of the countries south of the Atlas , following negotiations held with Mouley Ismaïl, with the aim of preserving a lasting peace .
The latter was polygamous , in 1668, he married in first marriage the princess Lalla Mariem Al Saadi , eldest daughter or sister of the last Saadian sultan Ahmad al-Abbas . And in 1672, he married in second marriage a daughter of Sheikh El Glaoui , Master of the Col du Glaoui , .
