- Comment: No improvement after previous decline. Coming third in a competition doesn't justify notability. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 18:33, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
Danita Yeboah Akosua Adomaah (professionally known as Afronita) is a Ghanaian dancer and choreographer.[1] She was a contestant and won third place in the seventeenth edition of Britain's Got Talent, together with her dance partner and mentee, Abigail.
Early Life
[edit]Afronita is an alumnus of Wesley Girls Senior High School.[2]
Career
[edit]She discovered dance at the age of 12, but began dancing professionally when she joined Dance With Purpose (DWP) Academy, co-created by DanceGod Lloyd at the age of 14.[3] After leaving DWP Academy, she auditioned for the seventeenth Britain's Got Talent with her mentee and winner of TV3's "Talented Kids", Abigail.[4] They became the first Ghanaian homegrown talent to participate in the show.[5] They went on to place third at the grand finale of the show.[6]
Leaving DWP
[edit]In January 2024, Afronita announced her exit from DWP which came as a surprise to many. DWP released a press statement in this regard to officially announce her exit.[7] According to Quables, DWP co-founder during a Kwadwo Sheldon interview, Afronita left due to feud with Afronita's mother who made requests that Afronita be managed by DWP ahead of another DWP dancer, Endurance Grand.[8]
