Aegean Shipping Management SA is a shipping company headquartered in Piraeus, Greece. Aegean Shipping operates 15 ships, including ships for the transportation of bulk cargo and tankers..[1]

Fleet Extension

COSCO have been contracted by Aegean Shipping to extend their fleet by an additional eight tankers and six bulk cargo carriers, making Aegean their largest European customer.[2]

Bilge Dumping Convictions

In 2016 two chief engineers working for Aegean Shipping were found guilty of falsifying documents in an attempt to hide the repeated dumping of bilge waste directly into the sea, bypassing their ship's waste management system.[3][4]

Aegean Shipping have published since 2019 an annual environmental, social and governance report, in which they record zero spills into the marine environment since the report's inception.[5] The company reports to be compliant with international standards for environmental management.[6]

The testing and certification company Bureau Veritas certified Aegean's Green Admire ship as the first oil tanker to meet their CLEANSHIP SUPER designation, recognizing steps taken to limit environmental impact including the disposal of bilge waste water.[7]

Alleged Russian Oil Sanctions Violation

Aegean Shipping have been accused of breaching the Embargo of Russian oil during the Russo-Ukrainian War[8]
