Dr. Abbas Panakkal is an author, intercultural historian and researcher from Kerala, India based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. He is director of International Interfaith Harmony Initiative in collaboration with Malaysian Prime Minister's Department.[1] He was awarded a fellowship from Griffith University, Australia to study the ethno-cultural moorings of the migrant community from Kerala .[2] He is an advisory board member of the Religious Life and Belief Centre at the University of Surrey in England, the United Kingdom.[3][4][5][6] Dr. Panakkal is a senior researcher at the Abu Dhabi-headquartered World Muslim Communities Council[7] (TWMCC[8]), which functions as a global institutional initiative that enhances the role of Muslims and elevates their practice in their societies as well as international forums.

One of Dr. Abbas Panakkal's notable works is "Musaliar King: Decolonial Historiography of Malabar's Resistance."[9][10][11]
