ACES (Advanced Curriculums for Educational Studies) is an international educational organization headquartered in North America, featuring members from over 32[1] countries including the United States, Canada, Mexico, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Peru, and Morocco. Formerly a developer of educational courses in business and programming for students, the organization has transitioned to offering certification programs, newsletters, and online media since 2021.[2]
ACES currently organizes international events focused on university lectures, resume development, and career advice for students.[3]
Governance Hierarchy
[edit]Presently located in Toronto, Canada, ACES in governed according to a classic management structure, separated according to its scale of operations.
Executive Directors - Executive Directors correspond with the top level management of the organization. They are responsible for strategic direction, ensuring effective overall representation and operations for ACES.[4] There are currently two executive directors relevant. [1]
International Committee - The International Committee regulates all international activities and foreign expansion for the organization, its services, marketing, and other ventures.[1]
National Committee - The National Committee is responsible for authorizing and initializing organizational activities within borders. Such committees are only present within certain countries and regions where ACES is prominent (e.g. Canada, US, Taiwan, etc.).[4]
Regional Branches - Regional Branches are responsible for the frontline work necessary to facilitate local events and supportive resources for students. They also connect regional students to national and international ventures as directed by their respective committees. These branches may cover a variety of schools and clubs where smaller ACES Chapters are situated. As of 2023, chapters are relatively new additions to the organizational structure of ACES.[1]
Competitive Events
[edit]ACES creates and manages international competitive events annually, all of which are available to its members. Each competition occurs independently throughout the year, with a focus on business and finance:
- The International Financial Investing Competition (IFIC) involves designing a professional investment portfolio spread out across $100,000 USD.[2]
- The International Corporate Consulting Competition (ICCC) is a case study competition where participants present corporate solutions to problems associated with business and entrepreneurship.[1]
- The International Scientific Research Competition (ISRC) places a focus on developing an original scientific research paper typically based on fields within Chemistry and Biology.[5]
- The International Marketing Strategy Competition (IMSC) allows for corporate marketing practice by creating distinct strategies to promote brands and companies.[6]
Other Ventures
[edit]In 2022, ACES began developing public online events featuring guest speakers from its partner institutions, including universities, educational companies, and other schools and programs.[7] These events are recorded and distributed to its members, but also features a live audience with limited seating.[1]
During December of 2023, ACES officially released an international community group on various social media platforms, previously exclusive to certain qualifying members.[7] The community is currently only open to a select group of countries, including the United States, Mexico, Canada, and India.[2]
Throughout 2024, ACES grew their audience on social media platforms and expanded international presence by the development of opportunities such as scholarships, internships, and competitions. They continued to collaborate with other entities such as educational companies and organizations through various international events.[7]
