Draft:2013 Rathupaswala shooting

On 1 August 2013, a shooting occurred during a protest in Rathupaswala, Sri Lanka. Security forces opened fire on protestors who were demanding access to clean water, causing three deaths and injuring several others.[1][2][3] On 17 May 2024, Gamapaha High Court acquitted and released four suspects in relation to the shooting.[4][5]
