Translation

[edit]

Hello! Strange request here, but an article about me and my Wikipedia work has been promoted to Good article status at English Wikipedia and nominated for similar status at Spanish Wikipedia. I'm curious if you have any interest in translating the entry for Sinhala Wikipedia or other projects?

Figured I'd ask since your profile suggests you do translation work. Either way, happy editing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:56, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Expansion for Operation Yukthiya?

[edit]

Hello @Ben MacTavish. I accepted your draft on Operation Yukthiya and I found it to be quite an interesting short read. This topic seems to be gathering a lot of not only domestic news coverage but also international too, especially around the suspected human rights violations. The article just seems to be scratching the surface, you have done a great job on bringing this topic to the mainspace, thank you!

I think this article has a lot of potential, there is plenty of news sources around to do that too. It would be great if you and other people, maybe even myself, were to expand this article to be more in-depth by covering the events and controversy around it. I also went at the liberty of adding links to the pages for it so it wasn't an orphan, but there is probably still more.

Thanks for the great article, and happy editing!

@TheBritinator Hi, thank you for for the kind words! I'll try to expand the article whenever I have time (which is not often due to studies). Please feel free to improve the article. I am new to editing and also not a native English speaker, so I'd appreciete if you could correct any of my mistakes. Sometimes my sentences are phrased awkwardly or have a poor choice of words, feel free to rephrase them. Thank you!

No problem. I have shared it around and I'm sure people will contribute to improving and expanding it in due time. TheBritinator (talk) 22:16, 22 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
