Český rozhlas České Budějovice is a regional public radio station of Czech Radio, based in České Budějovice and broadcasting for the South Bohemia Region. It was founded in 1945. The station has been directed by Zdeněk Duspiva since 2013.
The station's own programme is broadcast daily from 5.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m., in several blocks during the day, and during the evening and night broadcasts it disseminates the full-length programmes of the CRo Central Bohemia station and the joint programme of the regional Czech Radio stations.
History
[edit]The radio transmitter in České Budějovice began operation on 5 May 1945, but shortly afterwards the Nazis took control of it. Czech announcements were broadcast again from 9 May 1945, and a month later, radio representatives attended a Czechoslovak Radio programme conference in Prague.[1]
