Congregation Beth Israel (Hebrew: בית ישראל) is a Reform Jewish synagogue located at 751 San Juan Boulevard in Bellingham, Washington, in the United States. It is one of the oldest synagogues in Western Washington.[2]
Established in 1908, the congregation consisted mostly of Jewish immigrants from Lithuania. It moved into its first building at 2200 Broadway in 1925.[2] Originally Orthodox, it became more liberal following World War II, and in 1987 joined the Union of American Hebrew Congregations.[2] The congregation moved into a new building at 751 San Juan Boulevard in 2018.[1][2] At that time membership was 275 families.[1]
As of 2023[update], the rabbi was Joshua Samuels.[2]
