Significance of Maroon

[edit]

Can someone tell me what significance if any is given to the color maroon?

Given by whom? Well it is one of the colours of the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles. Sorry that I don't have more of an answer but why not ask at Talk:Maroon (color)? Jimp 01:51, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Think of the times, the number of times that you can make rhymes with that friend, maroon! There's the month of June (maroon!); there's a singer's croon (maroon!) as she sings a tune (maroon!) to an orange moon (maroon!) like a crazy loon (maroon!)... What, that's not enough? --Oolong 16:39, 4 September 2007 (UTC thgfhbnou vwewwtf )

Moving to Variations/Varieties of ...

[edit]

It has been suggested that Category:Shades of organge be moved to either Category:Variations of organge or Category:Varieties of organge. Where this move to go through all Shades of ... categories and their associated templates should also be moved. The discussion is here. Jimp 01:51, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Garnet and Cherry are names for shades of red used prominently by American college football teams (Florida State and Temple, respectively). Are these recognized color shades? If so, shouldn't they be added to this pallette? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.237.208.220 (talk) 19:54, 10 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Missing: Pillar Box Red

[edit]

I think that the most common descriptive term for a shade of red in the UK is "Pillar Box Red". This strikes me as a glaring omission. See the Wiki entry for "Pillar Box" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.2.118.207 (talk) 13:38, 18 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Purple

[edit]

Isn't the article Purple a good fit for this category? Luis Dantas (talk) 17:23, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Adding Pomegranate As a Color Shade for Red and Pink

[edit]

Some of colors in each of the categories I've seen are named after the fruit and spices we sometimes eat. I wonder if it's also beneficial to add pomegranate as another color shade for the shade of red and pink? It's optional; just a thought I recommended.
