Subcategorization
[edit]There are more than 9,260 articles listed under R from alternative languages. I don't know if that is considered too much for a single category. Could I create some more specific categories? Do you think R from Spanish and R from French would be useful? How should I procede? Thanks and regards.--Againme (talk) 06:37, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not certain either if it's considered an overpopulated category, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt if categories "Redirect from specific language" existed. I think that a good way would be to create these categories, e.g. R from Spanish, as subcategories of this category. All the best, --Biblbroks's talk 19:41, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

R from Macedonian
[edit]- Could I create template R from Macedonian. Can I create redirect pages from Macedonian to en.wiki articles? Is there any limitations for it?--Brest (talk) 20:57, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
Missing language
[edit]Turkish and various other languages don't seem to be represented here. Like, the fancy ToC has all sorts of scripts, but I have no idea how I'd look for articles beginning with "Ş". — SMcCandlish Talk⇒ ʕ(Õلō)ˀ Contribs. 19:12, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
- Hi! As part of my general political parties work, I've created redirections for all Turkish political parties in Turkish and other significant stuff... --Againme (talk) 14:28, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
Nynorsk
[edit]Nynorsk (Neo/New Norwegian). I tried to create a (sub)subcategory for Nynorsk by resembling similar pages (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Redirects_from_Nynorsk-language_terms).
It got properly listed as a subcategory of Category:Redirects from non-English-language terms, but specifying {{R from alternative language|nn}}
in a redirect page doesn't list that redirect (E.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=K%C3%B8benhavn&action=edit) in the Nynorsk category page.
What triggers/where is the link between language codes and the corresponding language subcategory page defined? Which steps am I missing?
- The category name must match the ISO 639 language template. In this case, {{ISO 639 name nn}} produces Norwegian Nynorsk, so the category should be moved to Category:Redirects from Norwegian Nynorsk-language terms. Gorobay (talk) 23:06, 20 November 2013 (UTC)
