This list includes the Comedian Ron White (of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour fame) as a Vietnam Veteran. Mr. White was born December 18, 1956. The US involvement in Vietnam ended, in its entirety, March 29, 1973. He would have to have enlisted in mid 1972, attended BCT, AIT and received his PCS orders, all at the age of fourteen. If He joined the US Navy after graduating High School, which would have been in 1974, He would be a Vietnam ERA Veteran. I have removed him from the category. It is highly unlikely he is a Vietnam veteran, as you say, and nothing in his article mentioned it. — jwillbur05:15, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
US military involvement in Vietnam actually ended in May 1975. Check your History books. We cannot forget the Embassy being over-run or the military deaths caused during the USS Maygueeze. I've met more than a few who served in-country "after" March 29, 1973. Although the Vietnam veteran article provides the definition by the Department of Labor in the U.S. of a "Vietnam era veteran" in relation to employment, the criteria for adding this category to an article, including any of the subcategories by branch of military service, should be determined by whether a service person earned the Vietnam Service Medal.
