In general, historians generally place the end of the Middle Ages at the beginning of the Reformation ca. 15171525 (usually rounded down to 1500) and ending in the late 18th century with the onset of the Industrial Revolution and the events leading up to the French Revolution of 1789. This category is one of a group that makes a hierarchy of sub-categories according to the main branches of Christianity within historical eras. It ranges from about 1500 ( following the fall of Constantinople) to 1800 AD. This category lists Christian martyrs who were killed for their Eastern Orthodox witness or beliefs in the 16th and 17th centuries.
