Category:Christian martyrs of the Early Modern era

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In general, historians generally place the end of the Middle Ages at the beginning of the Reformation ca. 15171525 (usually rounded down to 1500) and ending in the late 18th century with the onset of the Industrial Revolution and the events leading up to the French Revolution of 1789. This category is one of a group that makes a hierarchy of sub-categories according to the main branches of Christianity within historical eras. It ranges from about 1500 ( following the fall of Constantinople) to 1800 AD. It will not hold many articles directly, only those who were killed for their general Christian beliefs. Those who supported or protested Roman Catholic teachings specifically should be placed in the sub-categories for Catholics and Protestants.

This category is within Category:Protestant Reformation as that is the most relevant historical sub-category within the main category for the Early Modern era.
