Baghestan-e Sofla (Persian: باغستان سفلي)[a] is a village in, and the capital of, Baghestan Rural District, in Eslamiyeh District, Ferdows County, South Khorasan province, Iran.[4] The previous capital of the rural district was the village of Baghestan-e Olya,[5] now the city of Baghestan.[4]

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 610 in 188 households, when it was in the Central District.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 675 people in 221 households.[7] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 707 people in 223 households.[2]

In 2020, the rural district was separated from the district in the formation of Eslamiyeh District.[4]
