Summary

[edit]

During summer oil tycoon and President Angelo Moratti[1] in his 13th campaign as Chairman transferred in several players to reinforce the club trying to revive La Grande Inter.[2] Meanwhile, the club transferred out some players from the recent past [3] such as midfielder Armando Picchi to Varese with Corso becoming Team Captain,[4] Defender Guarneri was bought by Bologna,[5] Jair was on loan by Roma.[6]

Young players made their debut this season such as: Ferruccio Mazzola[7] ( Sandro Mazzola younger brother[8]). Moratti transferred in from Milan the Peruvian midfielder Benítez[9] and Danish Forward Harald Nielsen[10] from Bologna.[11]

After the end of the season, President and Owner Angelo Moratti left the club to Ivanoe Fraizzoli appointed as his replacement:[12] a well-known fan of the Beneamata.[13]
