The 1898 Texas Longhorns football team represented The University of Texas (now known as the University of Texas at Austin) as a member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association (SIAA) during the 1898 college football season. Led by first-year head coach David Farragut Edwards, the Longhorns compiled an overall record of 5–1.[1]
