The 1896 Texas Longhorns football team represented the University of Texas in the 1896 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association football season. Led by Harry Orman Robinson in his first and only season as head coach, the team compiled an overall record of 4–2–1 with a mark of 1–1 in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association (SIAA) play.
