Wyld (brand)
Products
[edit]Wyld focuses primarily on edible cannabis gummies in a variety of flavors and cannabis strains. The strains include Sativa, Indica, Hybrid, CBD, CBG, CBN, and Terpenes varieties. Wyld offers this variety to create a tailored cannabis experience for the consumer. Wyld cannabis edibles can help you sleep, energize you, help you focus, or relax depending on the strain and dosage amount consumed[1].
Good Tide is a hash-rosin line, which they introduced to the markets in 2022. Good Tide is a vegan friendly, made with real fruit edible gummy that comes in a fully compostable and recyclable packaging. This edible delivers a full spectrum cannabis experience and is considered to provide a true-to-plant experience[2].
Wyld produces a line of edibles that can be shipped to an individual in 27 states in the United States called Wyld Hemp THC. Wyld Hemp THC is not very different than THC except it has a low THC content which makes it eligible to ship to individuals[3].

Intended Effects of Consumption
[edit]As Wyld and most cannabis company will attest too, achieving the intended effects of cannabis strains/products is not an exact science. It is important to remember that every individual will react differently to each strain, dosage, and product. Wyld strives to create a wide range of intended effects so the consumer may find the strain, dosage, and product that best fits their intended effect. This can range from edibles geared towards engaging in creative activities, relaxation, brightening one’s mood, internal reprieve, wellness/recovery, carefree adventure, balance, or deep sleep[5].
Markets
[edit]Since 2015 Wyld has expanded their market to include thirteen (13) states within the United States of America and Canada. These states include Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Washington. Wyld will be focusing on expanding its market on the east coast in 2024 and launching in New York[6].
Due to federal regulations, any product that has cannabis-derived THC & CBD cannot be shipped to individuals. In order to purchase Wyld products, you must go through a state licensed dispensary or cannabis deliver service[7].
According to June 2024 Headset data, Wyld Elderberry and Boysenberry gummies are in the number 1 and 2 spots. This comes as no surprise as Wyld gummies lead the nation in cannabis edibles[8].
Quality Control
[edit]One of the main reason Wyld products leads the nation in cannabis edibles is the company’s commitment to producing high quality, reliable products. When consuming Wyld products you can expect to have a trusted cannabis experience. The Wyld company prides itself on using high manufacturing standards and a reliable quality control process to provide the consumer with a consistent cannabis experience[9].
Sustainability and Environmental Influences
[edit]Wyld has many sustainable and environmental initiatives to reduce their carbon footprint and improve the overall environment. Wyld is the first cannabis company to become Climate Neutral Certified. In order to become Climate Neutral Certified, Wyld measured its 2021 carbon footprint at 22,819 tons of CO2 and offset its emissions by purchasing carbon credits through South Pole. A decarbonization advisor to business, organizations, and government agencies[10].
Another environmental impact Wyld has had is partnering with One Tree Planted to plant 50,000 tress through Canada to celebrate its Canadian launch. This builds off Wyld’s One Tree Planted Urban Forestry Action Fund that supports 6 different urban forestry plantings across the United States. By planting trees throughout Canada and the United States, Wyld hopes to contribute to reducing wildfires, the effects of dangerous urban heat islands, improving air quality, and creating green spaces for communities in need[11].
Wyld focuses on creating compostable wrappers and packaging in different markets to encourage compost as a way to divert landfill waste. Wyld engages in a wide range of sustainable and healthy environmental practices including Detroit Hives, Washington Trails Association, Oregon Wild, Oregon Natural Desert Association, The Freshwater Trust, Crow Lake Wind Power, Safe Water: Kayonza District Borehold Project, Willamette Riverkeeper, Darkwoods Forest Conservation, Viva Farms, and Clean Water Kiosks Cambodia[12].
Food Initiatives
[edit]Wyld invests resources in providing food to underserved communities across the United States through a variety of programs, including Mudbone Grown, Three Square, and Feed’em Freedom Foundation[13].
Social and Racial Justice
[edit]Wyld believes in equality and equal rights for all humans. It adheres to this belief by contributing to a wide range of human rights groups, including Sacramento LGBT Community Center, Break Barriers, Pride Northwest, Equality Federation, Oregon Cannabis Association, Black History Month, Urban League of Portland, and Juneteenth Oregon[14].
420 Expungements in 2022 is an initiative that Wyld is engaged in to combat the failed war on drugs to wipe criminal records clean of cannabis or related charges. One of the primary objectives of this initiative was to sponsor the Oregon Senate Bill 1579[15]. Wyld participates in a myriad of projects and organizations to empower, strengthen, and restore communities and families that have been negatively impacted by mass incarcerations and racial discrimination. NuProject, BIPOCANN, and Root & Rebound are a few examples of organizations with a focus on building generational wealth for disparaged communities and provide easier access to building legal profitable cannabis businesses.
History
[edit]Wyld was established in 2015 out of a farmhouse in Tumalo, Oregon by spirits-industry veterans Aaron Morris and Chris Joseph on a ranch that had already been licensed for growing cannabis. Describing the first couple of batches as tasting like "crayons", Chris Joseph spoke with his gelatin supplier and eventually improved the recipe, creating Wyld's first two flavors, marionberry and raspberry in the process.[16] In 2016, the company moved to its current headquarters in Portland, Oregon.
Reception
[edit]Writing for Forbes.com, Lauren Yoshiko called the gummies "Juicy and soft" and lacking the cannabis oil taste usually associated with edibles. She also enjoyed the flavor, saying that if she wasn't "treating them like medicine" she would eat the "whole pack of ten in one sitting".[17]
