2010 single by Three Days Grace
"World So Cold " is the third single released from Three Days Grace 's 2009 album, Life Starts Now . The song was released for radio airplay on August 3, 2010.[ 1] The single debuted on the BIllboard Rock Songs chart at number 50 and has reached number one on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.[ 2]
"World So Cold" was written by Adam Gontier and produced by Howard Benson. The song runs at 140 BPM and is in the key of G# major . It runs for four minutes and three seconds.[ 3] The track was written prior to the release of the group's second studio album, One-X according to guitarist Barry Stock . The band had written the verse and pre-chorus at the time, however never transpired into anything.[ 4]
Speaking about the overall meaning of the track, Gontier stated, "the song is about losing somebody close to you in your life, it's how your life changes."[ 4]
"World So Cold (piano version)" was released on the Japanese edition of Life Starts Now and on the downloadable single for "Lost in You ".[ 5] [ 6]
Before the album was released, the band put a piano version without any vocals on their website.
