William Moseley (Born July 29, 1986), known professionally as "The Kingmaker", is an American record producer, composer, and entrepreneur. Moseley serves as managing partner and founder of Kingmaker. Originally a radio personality, Moseley has since become known for enlisting high-profile music industry artists to perform on singles, soundtracks and compilation albums, for which he often serves as, composer or producer.
Career
[edit]Moseley started early in his career as a publicist and producer working for Scott Storch. He was known for his fusion style of composing and producing music. Moseley has scored and produced for various television shows and films over his career[1].
In 2016, William Moseley co-founded Kingmaker. Kingmaker is the parent company to Kingmaker Music a company that offers support to artists, including assistance with music production, distribution, sync licensing, and career management[2].
Moseley started producing singles with members of the Kottonmouth Kings while the band was taking a hiatus from music. In late 2016, Moseley released a serious of collaboration songs with artists including Tech N9ne, Twiztid, Juicy J, Cypress Hill, Trizz, and members of Kottonmouth Kings under the name The Kingmaker.[3]
In 2018, it was announced that the Kottonmouth Kings had signed to Kingmaker Music under the management of Moseley. Moseley and Dustin "Dloc" Miller had assembled the original Kottonmouth King lineup that included Dloc, Johnny Richter, and Saint Dog.[4]
On January 31, 2018, the Kottonmouth Kings announced via social media that new music was set to be released that upcoming March. On March 1, 2018, a music video was released by Dloc and Johnny Richter produced by Moseley under the name Kingspade.[5] The song was titled "Who We". In the video it was announced that Kingmaker would be releasing a new full-length Kottonmouth Kings album titled Kingdom Come on April 20 of that year.[6]
On April 20, 2018, Kingmaker Music released "Kingdom Come" by The Kottonmouth Kings. The album featured Sendog of Cypress Hill, Twiztid, and Dizzy Wright. The album was produced by Corelone, Steve Dang, and William Moseley.
In 2019, Moseley released the first Kingmaker Cannabis compilation album entitled "The Harvest" The album was announced alongside a Kottonmouth Kings tour by the same name. The tour featured many of the artists on the compilation album. The main artists on the album and tour were Crazytown, Ceekay Jones, Judge D, and included singles from all the members of the Kottonmouth Kings.
On October 4, 2023, it was announced through Taste of Country that Kingmaker Music would be releasing a new Joe Exotic album that was partially recorded from prison.[7] Exotic is the star of the Netflix series "The Tiger King" and also a 2024 presidential candidate. The main song on the album was entitled "My Best Friends" and was also used by Exotic as his presidential campaign song.[8][9] William Moseley also announced he would be taking over the management of Exotic's music catalog.[10][11][12]
In Late 2023 through 2024, William Moseley released a serious of albums of different genres that were reimagined as other genres of music.[13][14][15]
In early 2024, Moseley announced he would be opening a new reggae division. The first ever Grammy winning reggae artist Mykal Rose announced via social media he would be joining Moseley and Kingmaker Music.[16] Later that day Kingmaker announced releases planned with The Wailers, Big Mountain, Anslom and Mykal Rose all produced or executive produced by Moseley.[17][18]
