Robert William Brooks (born October 25, 2001) is an American football safety for the Tennessee Volunteers.
Early life and high school
[edit]Brooks attended Vestavia Hills High School located in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. Coming out of high school, Brooks decided to join the Tennessee Volunteers football team as a walk-on.[1][2]
College career
[edit]In Brooks's first four collegiate seasons from 2020 through 2023, he appeared in 39 games, where he notched 23 tackles with one being for a loss, and a pass deflection.[3][4][5][6] In week two of the 2024 season, Brooks intercepeted a pass which he returned 85 yards for a touchdown, as he helped the Volunteers to a win over the NC State Wolfpack.[7] In week eight, Brooks notched eight tackles with one being for a loss, and the game sealing interception, as he helped Tennessee upset rivals Alabama. For his performance vs the Crimson Tide, Brooks was named the Walk-On player of the week.[8][9]
