Redundancy in first sentence

[edit]

Hi folks. I think this is a marvelously good project and as far as I have seen, you produce nice and informative texts, valuable contributions to Wikipedia and thereby to humankind. Still, I would like to suggest a minor change: Do not say twice in the first sentence what family the species belongs to. The emphasis here is on twice. The general perception is that most readers start reading at the beginning and stop reading rather soon. Therefore it is very important that the first sentence is very understandable and very efficient. This criticism (albeit very mild) is that by saying one thin twice you are missing the opportunity to convey more about other things. I have looked at about five of your articles. They provide a scientific name AND a descriptive English name for the family. Remove the scientific name. Most readers will not recognize it anyway. Those who want it can find it by clicking on the English name. Since the English name is descriptive, it provides some orientation. --Ettrig (talk) 09:11, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
