WikiProject Zoo

[edit]

I would like to know if anyone is still an active participant in the WP:ZOO, If you are please confirm by way of responding on this talk page. I am just trying to get an idea of how many people are still engaged in the project as to better work out how to manage and address things that are listed in the project. Kind Regards ZooPro 14:12, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm more interested in specific articles than working on zoos "in general" (currently working on Denver Zoo) so perhaps I don't belong on this list. Right now I have other Wikipedia work keeping me busy and most of it is not zoo related. I will remove my name if you think that's appropriate. Donlammers (talk) 14:11, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I didn't notice you had dealt with this based on my message to your talk page. I will put a watch on this page so I don't miss things in the future. I think semi-active is good for now. Thanks Donlammers (talk) 14:23, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Parc des Félins article

[edit]

Thanks, ZooPro, for recently showing enough interest in this long-neglected article to give it a rating.

There's much more copy-editing and formatting to be done. The article also needs a description of how these 120+ cats (and lemurs) are managed, what offspring have been born, lots of stuff. More pics would be nice, but acquiring them without a visit is difficult. The French Wiki doesn't even have an article on this park.

It would be nice to snag a park map illustration from the brochure if I can get permission. Maybe I'll brush up on my French and drop them un petit note. Maybe I'll also visit the park someday. Seduisant (talk) 00:26, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

New Logo / Banner

[edit]

any thoughts on a new logo, banner and userbox?? ZooPro 10:29, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

How about this?

This user is a member of Wikiproject Zoo.
The Arbiter 19:28, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Could we tone down that bright red just a bit? It gives me a headache. Even just down to DD rather than FF? That also increases the contrast, making the text eisier to read for my chronologically challenged eyes. I like the idea of having more than one animal represented. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Donlammers (talkcontribs) 21:11, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah red seems a bit bright, i like File:Animals fullquality.jpg aswell, any suggestions on what the image should be?

Looks better then the current :) ZooPro 04:13, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with "looks better than the present." Just so we can see (I have a bit of trouble with just file names), I have mocked up the two suggestions together.

This user is a participant in WikiProject Zoo.
I'm not sure how either of the suggestions would translate into a banner for the main page, which is a bit different proposition from a userbox. Donlammers (talk) 15:25, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Looks great! I'll move it to the Template namespace. The Arbiter 23:47, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

And, moved to the Userbox gallery. The Arbiter 00:26, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have also replaced our old user box with the new design.ZooPro 12:25, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

GA reassessment of Dolphinarium

[edit]

I have conducted a reassessment of the above article as part of the GA Sweeps process. I have found some concerns which you can see at Talk:Dolphinarium/GA1. I have placed the article on hold whilst these are fixed. Thanks. Jezhotwells (talk) 21:27, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cheers will have a look ASAP. ZooPro 12:16, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Total Update

[edit]

Over the next few days i will slowly update the project to fall in line with other related projects, our style is very out-dated and needs to be recognisable with other projects. Hence why i enlisted the help of other contributers with the new Userbox. Now all i need is someone to create a fantastic banner for the top of the page that encourages users to join. Also i have updated the navigation box, the new box will make it alot easier to access all the tools and templates we use. It will also help keep the main page neat and tidy. ZooPro 12:23, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nice work! This looks much cleaner and seems easier to get around in. My only comment is that the red in the navigation box is the full bright red (color=red, which I think is "ff0000") and not the slightly muted "dd0000" red of the user box. In the small banner I don't mind the brighter red, but shouldn't they match? Donlammers (talk) 13:27, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have toned it down, i agree it should all match. ZooPro 13:32, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Of course now the text in black is hard to read. Is white text frowned on in these circumstances? I'm not sure if it would look better or not, and don't have time right now to do a test. Donlammers (talk) 13:42, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I can only change it to white on the Main Page (as it doesnt link to itself) however on every other subpage it will appear blue (like all valid wikipedia links), i dont know how to change that or even know if it is possible to change it. ZooPro 13:54, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ah well. I think it looks better on the main page now. I forgot about it being a link in the other pages -- we should probably keep it standard there.Donlammers (talk) 15:59, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Uhh...The userbox isn't displayed on the page...I'll just put it on, as it says that "Adding it will add this userbox to your page." The Arbiter 01:13, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Cheers i was getting around to it, im thinking of adding some zoo related photos aswell, any ideas?? ZooPro 01:42, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe some pictures of zoo entrances. By the way, do we need work on a new logo? The Arbiter 22:30, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I was just looking at an article, and noticed that {{zoo-stub}} also need to be updated. This is an inline template, so it's pretty small. There are probably other templates as well, but I don't have time to investigate or fix right now.Donlammers (talk) 13:43, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

To Donlammers Yeah alot of little issues and tricks need working out if you find any that u dont wanna fix due to time constraints let me know and ill give it a crack. To The Arbiter a new logo would be great feel free to put forward any suggestions (anything would be better then my old one) also if anyone has time to do up a banner for the main page would be great. I would really like to get back to editing articles so i personaly am trying to stear clear of doing that sorta stuff however all credit to anyone who wants to give it a shot. WP 1.0 bot announcement

[edit]

This message is being sent to each WikiProject that participates in the WP 1.0 assessment system. On Saturday, January 23, 2010, the WP 1.0 bot will be upgraded. Your project does not need to take any action, but the appearance of your project's summary table will change. The upgrade will make many new, optional features available to all WikiProjects. Additional information is available at the WP 1.0 project homepage. — Carl (CBM · talk) 04:11, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

GA Reassessment of Phoenix Zoo

[edit]

Phoenix Zoo has been nominated for a good article reassessment. Please leave your comments and help us to return the article to good article quality. If concerns are not addressed during the review period, the good article status will be removed from the article. Reviewers' concerns are here. --Malleus Fatuorum 20:31, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've given this a start. I can address the parts where I've made changes in the past, but the majority of the article was written before I did anything to it. So far I have expanded the intro, fixed a couple of citations, and answered to the objection about the Arabian Oryx reintroduction. Unfortunately, I need more sources, and even the zoo itself doesn't seem to say how big it is (which is one of the "concerns"). Donlammers (talk) 15:52, 30 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I will give you a hand if you like, i dont know much about this zoo but all i can do is try. Have you tried the World Zoo site it generaly has the size of zoo's listed? ZooPro 00:40, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I think I have covered most of the items (you can see my notes at the GA discussion). The only thing I can't answer to is the provenance of the painting by the elephant (we were asked if it was taken in a public spot, which I believe speaks to copyright issues). I have asked the contributor about that -- haven't receive a reply yet. Most of the exhibit descriptions (which was my main worry) could have been (were?) created just from looking at the zoo map along with a couple of already cited sources. I had a bit more time today than I anticipated, as my family was not feeling well, so I just ploughed through it. I will post to the reviewer to see if he has any other comments or objections. Truth to tell, I agree with most of the comments -- this was not previously a GA article. I think it is now. Donlammers (talk) 00:53, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
As far as i am aware animals dont hold copyright so no matter where the image is, it was created by an elephant and in theory wouldnt be covered by any licence, Something to look into. By any standards though the article wasnt GA standard however it is now in my opinion up to GA and you should be highly commended for it as that was a long list of issues. Portal and Project Colours

[edit]

Just wondering if anyone had any ideas on a new colour scheme, I cant help but feel the colours are a bit wrong, red to me would better suit a fire project or something. I was thinking Khaki or Green as they are the most common colours of zoo uniforms around the world. ZooPro 05:17, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that does sound good, would you like me to take care of color schemes? The Arbiter 23:35, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I vote for something on the green side. Khaki all too often turns out looking like beige on screen. Donlammers (talk) 01:50, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I like green i will find some colours and if anyone else has some ideas please put the here. The current portal colours are just temperary. ZooPro 02:48, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have made a few mock ups in my sandbox please comment. [1]. ZooPro 08:36, 3 February 2010 (UTC) ZooFari has implemented the new colours. ZooPro 00:59, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm I see the mockup, and I think I like the forest green best. However, if "ZooFari has implemented the new colors", then why don't they show on my user page. Were you intending that comment to go under the portal thread? Donlammers (talk) 02:41, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I figured it out. I was using {{User WPZOO}} and not {{User WikiProject Zoo}}. I have changed it on my user page, but perhaps {{User WPZOO}} should be fixed as well? Donlammers (talk) 03:04, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hopefully nobody is offended and I did the right thing (I haven't dealt all that much with userboxes) -- I just went into {{User WPZOO}} and changed it to transclude {{User WikiProject Zoo}}. Seems to work fine on my User Page. Donlammers (talk) 09:51, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks mate yeah i was gunna get around to it, you saved me the hassle, did a good job cheers. ZooPro 15:17, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

To keep things tidy, please discuss anything about the portal on the portal talk page (as opposed to here). This will keep all relevant discussions centralized. I could see some of you have already helped out, thanks! However, please don't mess around with the following: Selected components, DYK, color scheme (use talk page instead), and news. There will be specific formats for these and I would appreciate if no one interrupts. Everything else, feel free to start filling in. Thanks and best regards, --ZooFari 06:38, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Naples Zoo

[edit]

I have moved Naples Zoo from my user space to the main namespace. I marked it as part of this project, and left it unassessed. In order to keep our record pristine, I made sure it is at least not just a stub before posting it. I would appreciate it if someone could officially assess it.

This article does not have pictures. I have been to the zoo, but on that day I left my camera at the hotel. Eventually we will go back, because it's a really great little zoo and I'm sure we will be in the area again, but meanwhile how do we get at least some pictures (as usual, the Zoo Web site has a lot, but they are copyrighted)? Is there some way to contact people that might live there and go too the zoo? I will email the zoo and see what I might be able to get, but will admit that my experience with this approach has had very little results in the past. Donlammers (talk) 16:03, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Done I have rated it as a Start class, if it had some images and and some more information on animals and the zoos future then it would be a C class. ZooPro 00:34, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I can add something about the future, but pictures are a bit more problematic as I'm quite a ways from the zoo. I'll keep looking. Donlammers (talk) 00:48, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Zoos of <state>" templates and the List of zoos in the United States

[edit]

Not all states have these templates. Where there are templates, they seem to mostly not match the information in List of zoos in the United States. Sometimes one list has more entries, and some times the other does. I have started going through these to align them and update the lists. This is going to take at least a couple of weeks, as it involves placing the templates in articles once I create them. However, we should end up with a list including red links to articles that need to be filled in. I have gotten through Delaware so far (plus a couple of templates that I did before I realized the extent of the problem). I will report here when I have completed this task. Donlammers (talk) 00:38, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you need a hand let me know and i will try my best to assist. ZooPro 05:15, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I will. Right now it looks like it might be best (though maybe not easiest) if I just slog through it, even if it takes a bit longer. That way I know where the project stands at any given time and am less likely to miss something. Donlammers (talk) 10:13, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm thinking that once I get a template created for all the states, it might be a good idea to use the templates in this article rather than manually updating the article each time a zoo is added (one was added to my Zoos of Washington template today). Any opinions on this? I hate trying to maintain the same information in two places if I can avoid it. (It will be at least a couple of weeks before I'm done with the template project, so we have a bit of time to discuss the issue if necessary). Donlammers (talk) 00:55, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have gotten rid of some of the articles on this page by expanding them. Others seem to have had a reason for attention at one point, but the problem has been fixed, so I noted that and removed the "attention=yes" parameter. There are 8 items remaining. Each of them needs work, as do most articles. However, each also seems to be correctly classified, and within its classification it does not seem to need any particular attention. Nor are there any notes in the articles that give a clue as to why they were singled out for attention. If you have an interest in any of the articles on Zoo articles needing attention, please make notes on the discussion page so that we know WHAT requires attention. Otherwise, in a couple of weeks I am going to remove all of the "attention" parameters on the basis that there seems to be no reason for them. Donlammers (talk) 02:34, 16 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have gone through these articles. I found one (International Species Information System) that was basically a copy of the ISIS web site, so I fixed that, cited it better, and turned it into a start-class article. There is one article left, which is barely readable English, and I will turn it into a decent stub soon. Most of the others are stubs, but better than a lot of the other stubs, so I removed the attention attribute.

If you want to add the attention attribute back for an article, please also include an explanation on the discussion page as to why the article needs particular attention, so that it's not a secret. Donlammers (talk) 02:05, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Three things

[edit]

1. Today I added Jungle Cat World to the list of Zoo Articles Needing Attention. It's outside of Toronto, and has 14 Felidae species in residence... might be worth a visit. The article is little more than skeletal.

2. The amount of vandalism, nonsense, and especially, the endless additions of meaningless and/or vanity ELs to the felid articles continues to be astonishing and infuriating.

3. If anyone has time and/or knows how to do it, the Project could use a "This Zoo-related article is a stub..." like this one:

See you on your watchlists...

--Seduisant (talk) 04:02, 17 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

We have a stub temp {{zoo-stub}} it needs updating as it still has the old logo. I am gathering a list of the most vandalised articles and will be asking that they be protected for a period of 3 months shortly, some have already been protected.
This is the template
ZooPro 23:37, 17 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, ZP. I've put the stub on the Project Page. --Seduisant (talk) 00:20, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I recently undertook a pretty significant expansion of the article on the North Carolina Zoo. If anyone here would care to take a look and make suggestions or even just give it a good copy edit that would be much appreciated. Thanks -- Jieagles (talk) 22:07, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just so you know this group isn't totally deserted... ZooPro has retired. ZooFari is now primarily working on commons now, and The Arbiter is currently involved in personal matters. I've been trying to keep some forward momentum with my own projects, but I'm in the middle of a release at my real work too. Sorry that nobody has responded at all yet, but I have to admit I don't have the time right now either. Hopefully someone else can step in and help out. Zoo Lists

[edit]

The three international lists that I know of (Zoos, Aquaria, and Dolphinariums) are all divided by region, and the by country within each region. Not only do I think it would be easier to find countries if the countries were simply listed alphabetically, but the three lists do not have the same regions, or even necessarily the same countries within some of the regions. I would like to remove the regions and just alphabetize the lists. I have posted this suggestion on the List of Zoos talk page and have gotten no responses yet. Anyone have an opinion on this? Anyone know if there was a particular reason they were done this way? Donlammers (talk) 12:28, 8 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's not clear to me exactly how these articles should be formatted. I'm inclined to have an internal link, and if it's red, just include a link to the official Web site or at least something that references the zoo. When I can't find ANY information on a zoo, I have been removing that zoo. Anyone have an opinion? Donlammers (talk) 12:16, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's also a bit unclear what should be in these lists. However, based on the WikiPedia definition of zoo as "a facility in which animals are confined within enclosures, displayed to the public, and in which they may also be bred," and the fact that we have separate lists for aquariums, I am currently planning to make the following changes:

I have taken a first stab at a definition of what goes in the List of zoos, and added it to the intro for that article. If you have a chance, please take a look and comment, as I plan to eventually disseminate this to other zoo lists. Donlammers (talk) 11:35, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Good Stubs

[edit]

I have made another pass at stubs, to identify stubs that could pretty easily be updated to start-class (i.e., I'm guessing I could make each into a start-class article in an hour or less (YMMV)). There does not seem to be any place on this project to put the information (the Expansion link goes directly to the zoo stub category), so it's in my user space right now at User:Donlammers/Working#Easy stub to start articles. I have included my current criteria for a zoo start article. You are welcome to use this list to find something to fill an hour or two of your time. Please let me know if you upgrade an article so I can remove it from the list (I have not watchlisted all of these). If you want a bigger challenge, go to Category:Stub-Class_zoo_articles and pick one that is NOT on my list. Donlammers (talk) 12:30, 26 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Is anyone still active?

[edit]

I would like to know who in WP:ZOO is still active. I have only seen Donlammers and Belugaboy still around. If you are still interested in the project, please post on my talk page. Thanks! The Arbiter 00:25, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nope doesnt look like anyone other then Donlammers is still around. ZooPro 11:55, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It looks like someone is at least lurking, though retired. There has been sporadic activity by others (additions and corrections here and there), but no concerted efforts that I've seen. There is plenty of work to be done, but seemingly not much interest. Donlammers (talk) 15:43, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
What the…Is ZooPro Back?!?! The Arbiter 17:08, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
With three to four active editors (Arbiter, Donlammers, ZooPark, and Belugaboy) there's no question that your project is still active. We have an opening coming up in the WikiProject Report published by the Signpost. Would the three/four of you be interested in participating in an interview? It might draw attention to your efforts or attract some new members. -Mabeenot (talk) 21:37, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Certainly! It would be great to get some publicity. Thanks a bunch. Cheers! The Arbiter 22:33, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Here are the interview questions. Feel free to skip any questions that you don't feel comfortable answering. Also, if you know anyone else who would like to participate in the interview, please share this with them. Have a great day. -Mabeenot (talk) 23:11, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
OK, call me stupid. What Are we supposed to do with these? Answer back to Mabeenot? Just go in and edit the sandbox? If we edit the sandbox are we supposed to sign the posts? Some of us don'[;t know the drill here. Donlammers (talk) 09:39, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, just post your comments below each answer in the sandbox along with a signature. I'll format everything for the final article. Feel free to skip any questions that you don't feel comfortable answering. Also, if you know anyone else who would like to participate in the interview, please share this with them. -Mabeenot (talk) 04:21, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

I'm letting you know that I have nominated the File:Wikiproject zoo logo.jpg for deletion due to lacking source information of used images. The image is only used in the stub icon, it seems. I have, however, made a request at the Graphic Lab for the image to be recreated (with greater quality as well) to compensate for the possible deletion. I hope that's OK with you. —Quibik (talk) 00:38, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Further to this, I've made a vector logo, and would like to suggest using the included "Ghostscript tiger" on the stub instead, like so:
The vector logo is viewable here. NikNaks talk - gallery - commons 08:46, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
For the record, I don't agree that this is undocumented. ZooPro states that this is entirely his own work. To me, entirely means just that--the photos are his as well. However, we were going to replace it anyway so I'm not going to argue the point too hard. But...
I think it would be more appropriate to use the current project page logo. It's not ideal when small, but it shows multiple animals, thus conveying the sense of "zoo" better than just a tiger.
If someone can come up with a real zoo icon, that would be even better. For instance, the Detroit Zoo logo seen here and the LA Zoo logo seen here (which for obvious reasons we can't use) both do a very good job. Even just the silhouettes of a couple of different animals as the inside of the O's (ditch the "Wikiproject" at the top and the underbar) would probably work.
In the meantime, if nobody else in this project objects, I will make the switch to the photo logo this evening (about 14 hours from this posting) so that the graphic doesn't just disappear out from under us. Donlammers (talk) 10:51, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Firstly, the photo just looks like a box, and I can't tell anything from it at such a small scale. I didn't realise it had animals in it until you mentioned it, and even then it's terribly difficult to see. On the other hand, a simple tiger's head is clear and crisp.
Also, I think you may have missed my logo creation. It seems to be just what you're talking about:

Is there a second animal you'd like to see alongside the tiger for this logo? I'll try to find one if you have a specific choice. NikNaks talk - gallery - commons 11:19, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I like it! You're right about not seeing the logo. I assumed the plain tiger head was what you were suggesting. Personally, I'd like a Gorilla as the second. I would, however, get rid of the "Wikiproject" across the top, since it turns into about 2 point type which isn't readable. I'd rather see the ZOO letters a little taller and the animals a bit bigger. Thanks. Donlammers (talk) 02:13, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not really in favour of using a logo of this nature for a stub image. If you look at most other stubs, they are simple, small images. For example, an article on sport might have a football. This is why the tiger head is preferable in this case. Still, perhaps a more generalised image of a zoo would be better. Perhaps the addition of bars in front of the tiger's head?
I will try to look for a gorilla for the logo, however. There seem to be none on Commons, but I'll try to find a GPL one from the web. NikNaks talk - gallery - commons 10:38, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I won't argue with the complexity issue. I was originally thinking of just the word ZOO (no underbar, no "Wikiproject"), but with the middle of each "O" being the outline of an easily recognizable animal. For this, a giraffe, swinging monkey, or elephant (pick two) would probably work pretty well. That's much simpler -- just black and white. It shows some animals, and it's unambiguous. Another approach would be an imaginary square with (for instance) the left half being a giraffe and the right having (for instance) a diving eagle on top and an octopus on the bottom (we do aquariums too) -- just outlines, not a photo. Again, black and white. If you can think of something else that would say "Zoo", I'd be perfectly happy, but we aren't about tigers, or cats in general, or even mammals, so I think a single animal of any sort is not really appropriate. I was planning to do this myself, but not right this instant. Of course, we could just use the tiger head in the interim to get this over with for now. Donlammers (talk) 12:44, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
To answer another point: no bars. No self respecting modern zoo uses bars. Even if they have cages, the material is usually either glass or some sort of wire mesh. Donlammers (talk) 12:49, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've scoured various sources and can't find a suitable gorilla, but I will do my best to find something else. My previous point about bars is simply that most users will associated a caged animal as being in a zoo, and the point is clarity. However, rendering mesh is probably difficult in this situation. I'm struggling to come up with other ideas for the stub icon. Is there any forum for discussion other than here? Few users seem to be paying attention to this one. However, your proposals are very complicated, and probably would not work well on such a small scale. Look at other stub images for the kind of thing needed. A calculator for maths, for example, is not the entire subject, but instantly recognisable. NikNaks talk - gallery - commons 11:06, 5 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, this project doesn't have a lot of traffic right now except for a few of us working on our own projects (and I guess I'm the only one monitoring this page). I created a slightly modified version of your logo (shown below). I could not figure out any way to display this except upload a whole new file, so eventually something else will need to get deleted. Anyway, my proposed current version is below.

I have gone ahead and updated the image in the template so that at least it doesn't get messed up when the old image is deleted. I don't really consider this discussion over, as I'm sure we can eventually do better. Donlammers (talk) 12:36, 14 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

WP:GLAM/SI Ambassador

[edit]

Hello, WikiProject Zoo/Archive 2! We would like to invite your WikiProject to help with the Smithsonian Institution collaboration, an outreach effort which aims to support collaboration such as Wiki-Academies, article writing, and other activities to engage the Smithsonian Institution in Wikipedia. Because of the Scope of your project, your project has been nominated to be part of our WikiProject Embassy, a place for WikiProjects to help Editors participating in the Smithsonian Collaboration improve articles, find materials, and create partnerships for the future. We hope that you will nominate an Ambassador for our participants to contact. Thanks!!!
