Service tables

[edit]

Is there a template for the tables of services, such as those found on the GWR wiki page? 49.206.124.242 (talk) 13:27, 5 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Route information boxes

[edit]

This may seem like either an odd or simple question, but how do you decide which of the neighbouring stations is "next" and which is "previous"? In particular I refer to disused stations / routings, but it's just as relevant to current ones. Hamishmcsporran (talk) 01:42, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Hamishmcsporran: This has given rise to editing disputes. Some people including myself follow the convention of previous = north/west, next = south/east. Others use previous = "up" direction, next = "down". But whichever you use, even if the route doesn't match with either, it should be consistent along the line. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 20:16, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with everything Redrose64 says, but would add that, in my opinion, it's even more important that, within one article, multiple routes through the station are consistent with each other. (Sometimes the topology of the network means that not all objectives can be met.)  Dr Greg  talk  20:40, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
