Wikipedia article traffic statistics

A new tool the Wikipedia article traffic statistics seems to give an interesting view on the popularity of the systems articles. For example the number of views in february 2008 divided into seven categories:

It's somewhat of a stretch to count hits on say solar system as hits in the field of systems science. Unless we differ on the definition of science. Ironically, systems science itself isn't even included in the list. Finally, were the people hitting the articles satisfied with what they found? First. These hits are in the field of systems and systems science as defined by this WikiProject Systems. I have included systems science. And I agree that these numbers are only an first indication. For me personaly this is the first time I got these kind of numbers. The question off cause is, what to do with these numbers? -- Mdd (talk) 10:49, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

For example the WikiProject Mathematics is flagging articles "as frequently viewed". And the WikiProject Mathematics also asked if these data can we used as a source of inspiration for reviving or revitalizing the Wikipedia:Mathematics Collaboration of the Month? Updated for March 2009. Is there some info available who reads the pages ? E.g. can it be because other pages link to them, and the WP bots are also counted in their daily routine ?
