FOSS Asia
FOSS Asia 2016 (Free and Open Source Software Asia) will be held from March 18-20 in the Singapore Science Center. Local volunteer Luther asked if anyone from wikimedia Singapore would like to give a talk, or is interested in possibly collocating a meetup? If so, please contact contact@fossasia.org. Hi I would appreciate if neutral editors can have a look at some bad faith edits and reverts going on here: These include
- - removing properly sourced contents by many editors over time without discussion
- - inserting misleading statements not found in the citations
- - inappropriate tagging
- - possible canvassing ?
- - New user with tagging knowledge? Special:Contributions/Josephine768
This has gone on for some time and your opinions needed. Also see Talk:Yale-NUS College. Thank you Baxter.melb (talk) 05:39, 28 July 2016 (UTC)
- @Baxter.melb:, could you please provide some diffs of the "bad faith" edits? On Wikipedia we tend to backup accusations with diffs (as evidence), so I would like you to provide those. --Lemongirl942 (talk) 05:47, 28 July 2016 (UTC)
- Wp:BRDC is "not for reverting changes by different editors repeatedly over an extended period to protect your preferred version or ideas". - for one. State your reasons in Talk for each paragraph. Wait for community consensus Baxter.melb (talk) 06:12, 28 July 2016 (UTC)
- I don't see any "bad faith" tagging btw. In particular, this seems to be a legitimate reason to tag (and I see another editor had previously reverted you). We tend to assume good faith. I for example, am assuming good faith with you, although it is quite obvious that you may have a conflict of interest and that you don't seem to be a new user either. You have been reverted by multiple editors - me, Julietdeltalima and Drmies. I suggest you come to the talk page and discuss. Maintenance templates are not supposed to be removed until the problems have been fixed. I saw that Drmies actually fixed some of the problems, but you on the other hand added them back and also removed the template.--Lemongirl942 (talk) 06:33, 28 July 2016 (UTC)
- FWIW, "new user with tagging knowledge" applies to Baxter.melb as well. Drmies (talk) 14:35, 28 July 2016 (UTC)
