List of Puerto Ricans
There is a current discussion on the talk page of the "List of Puerto Ricans see: Talk: List of Puerto Ricans. The issue that is being discussed is that "what should be done with the list". Is it "too long"? Sould it stay as is? Should it be divided into two (2) lists (example: List of Puerto Ricans Part 1 and Part 2)? Sould the list be split into smaller lists (example: List of Americans)? You are all invited to participate in the discussion. Tony the Marine (talk) 03:01, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
Inauguration of Alejandro García Padilla
Lets expand Inauguration of Alejandro García Padilla while we still have sources lying around. —Ahnoneemoos (talk) 22:23, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
Fixing archive
I had to restore some archives to fix some issues with the archiving bots. Just ignore these changes, the bots will eventually catch up the old conversations and archive them properly. —Ahnoneemoos (talk) 15:33, 4 January 2013 (UTC)
Congratulations to User:DivaKnockouts on 2 GAs
Gentlemen, please join me in congratulating our fellow member User:DivaKnockouts on bringing not one, but two articles to WP:GOODARTICLE status. Namely Drama Queen (Ivy Queen album) and Acércate, articles related to Ivy Queen. Remember that Puerto Rican culture, such as its music, is as important as its history and politics. Congrats to Diva in such amazing feat. —Ahnoneemoos (talk) 13:56, 8 January 2013 (UTC)
- Wow, thank you for the recognition. May I point out, these are also the first reggaeton album and reggaeton song GAs. I also hope to get Puerto Rico's main articles for Music such as Music of Puerto Rico to GA status in the future. Regards — DivaKnockouts (talk) 17:23, 8 January 2013 (UTC)
Deletion of Hacienda Juanita
Hi guys,
Hacienda Juanita is being considered for deletion as non-notable. I don't know much about this but I think this place qualifies as notable under WP:GEOFEAT since it is considered a historic landmark in Puerto Rico (being an hacienda and a historic landmark of the coffee industry in Puerto Rico). I'm also like 90% sure that the hacienda is considered a historic site by the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture.
Can any of you provide input on this at the AfD located at:Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hacienda Juanita

Deletion of public domain pictures once again...
Hi folks,
Once again we have to battle against nominations of public domain images. In particular the following 3 pictures:
- File:Jenniffer-gonzalez-28th-house-of-representatives-portrait.jpg which is in public domain as it is a portrait of a former Speaker of the House available on the public domain. Furthermore we have
{{PD-PRGov-OfficialPortraits}}
which protects it. - File:Ramon-rivera-marrero-comptroller-of-puerto-rico.jpeg which is under the public domain self-evidently and we also have [1] to protect it.
- File:Basilio-santiago-romero-comptroller-of-puerto-rico.jpeg which is under the public domain self-evidently and we also have [2] to protect it.
It seems that people on Wikipedia have grown paranoid of seeing a © Copyright tag on government websites and conclude that such policy applies to the works of the government of Puerto Rico simply because the webmaster put that tag on their website, even though all works of the government are in public domain.
Your help is appreciated on this matter. Evenmoreso if you can find an explicit law that we can show to Wikipedians to avoid this silly battles once and for all.

- "Furthermore we have
{{PD-PRGov-OfficialPortraits}}
which protects it"... No!! Have you bothered to read that template? This template is a written permission to reuse reproductions of paintings located in the capitol building, iuts not for photos that you take from random websites. - "public domain self-evidently and we also have [3] to protect it." Again: NO!. Its copyrighted self-evidently as the law not exempts it from copyright. http://www.ocpr.gov.pr/aviso_legalv2.htm not allows reuse for money making purposes and it not allows modifications of the file, therefore it is not free according to Wikimedia Projects requirements. Reuse for commercial purposes and modification of the work must be allowed.

- Hi, nowhere does [4] prohibit the modification of the pictures as they are in public domain. Could you please specify what makes you interpret this? —Ahnoneemoos (talk) 20:45, 26 January 2013 (UTC)
- It not allows it. The files are not public domain, they are not exempted from copyright law and the law does prohibit you to reuse the files for commercial purposes or to modify them. --Martin H. (talk) 22:10, 26 January 2013 (UTC)

- The pictures are in public domain. —Ahnoneemoos (talk) 00:40, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
- User:Martin H., are you absolutely sure that the images are not Public Domain? It isn't that I am questioning your knowledge, no. I ask you this question because User:Ahnoneemoos knows his way around our project and I doubt that he will go through the trouble of downloading an image that violates our policy. There are many websites that are copyrighted who use PD images, meaning that even though their written content are copyrighted, their images are not. Among them Wikipedia.
