Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe en Mayaguez
Came across this article; 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games and found it to be in pretty bad condition, I believe we should try and turn this into at least a good article by 2009. I linked it to its Spanish counterpart which is a little better, and I also found the games web site;http://mayaguez2010.com/ , I think that this article should be a collective project since it involves all of us as Puertoricans in one way or another. What do you all think?? El Grande Johnson (talk) 22:38, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, I believe the one in here is in better condition than its Spanish counterpart content-wise. We have a referenced "Organization" section, which the es. version lacks. The templates and list of events are a non-issue, I will work with them shortly. The other two sections need to be expanded. - Caribbean~H.Q. 13:52, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, I have added teams and sports sections and created an infobox to be used exclusively for Central American and Caribbean Games. Can someone upload the logo from the website? I'm currently using my girlfriend's PC, which lacks any image editing program. - Caribbean~H.Q. 17:08, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
El Grande Johnson (talk) 17:39, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
- OK, that's very good. I tweaked the rationale, for some reason the Olympic comitee has copyrights on its logos, which means these images should employ a fair use rationale. - Caribbean~H.Q. 18:05, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

- To be honest, I have never heard of this senator. But if you need help with the translations, I can lend a hand. - Caribbean~H.Q. 22:02, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
- Remember that for a while now, notability is automatic for people who meet any primary criteria and who have held international, national or first-level sub-national political office, including members of a legislature and judges. I opposed this, but its the consensus now... I had not heard of that guy, but he appears to meet notability.--Cerejota (talk) 22:58, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
ok I have been really slow working on the article, but the reason why I created the article is because not many people know about him, here are a few fun facts about the man;
I am in law school right now, and we hear about him a lot; he was known as the champion of habeas corpus, he defended many of the Nationalistas and fought against the Leyes de Mordaza even thou he was a Republican, he was president of the Colegio de Abogados, among other things. There is a statue of him in la legislatura and last year June 9 was declared by law to be celebrated as Santos P. Amadeo day in PR. I really thing this has a chance to become a really good article, and it would be nice if it were ready by June 9, so that other Puertoricans can learn about this man, in the PR we live in we need leaders like him. recently he has been mentioned a lot in el nuevo dia, especially in relation to the Colegio de Abogados issue. Take a look if you have a chance at the birth day law; it gives a biografy and why this man is worthy of souch an honor;http://www.camaraderepresentantes.org/files/pdf/0199596UCR.pdf

- Seems to be a very interesting person. I'm going to look into the article. Tony the Marine (talk) 06:20, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
- I did some work on it. Tony the Marine (talk) 04:25, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
article lost in time
I has been around since 2005 but has not been expanded. I have good memories from the place when I was young... so any sourcing to expand would be a great DYK opportunity. If someone gives me sources I can work it. --Cerejota (talk) 06:45, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not sure that we can expand it that much... It may be a perpetual stub. The most detailed source out there seems to bethis one, but unfortunately it is a blog. - Caribbean~H.Q. 22:56, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
- Coamo's Bath? I never heard of it. I did know and went many times to the "Baños de Coamo" (I am only joking, smile). Anyway, the blog really gives a base to work from. Did you know that during the Puerto Rican Campaign, the Baños were damaged, but that the walls (structure) of the restaurant and of most of the Baños are the original thing pre-1898? Here is another site: Baños de Coamo: Fountain of Youth. Tony the Marine (talk) 23:49, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
- I have not heard about Coamo's Bath but I know about Guaynabo City. Seriously, there are sources inGoogle Booksabout los Baños, most of them travel books. It seems that FDR went to Coamo. Saludos, --J.Mundo (talk) 03:20, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
- How many of them are online? - Caribbean~H.Q.04:27, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Highways of Puerto Rico
We have a few "Puerto Rico Highway (insert number here)" articles out there, all of them are stubs that share less than three references collectively. I was wondering if we should merge them into a new list simply titled "Highways of Puerto Rico". In my opinion, building a single history section will be a lot more easier if we discuss the highways as a whole, that way we could even include a section covering other roads, with enough references we can even build a FL. This proposal is just trying to reduce the amount of stubs, as it seems that individually our chances of pushing these to at least Good Article class are cuesta arriba. Regards and thanks for your time. - Caribbean~H.Q. 04:27, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
- I think you have something here. We could something similar to what was done with the Puerto Rico Campaign article. There were some stub articles about some of the battles scattered all over Wikipedia and when we joined them together and expanded them we ended up with a great article. The article could begin with a brief history of our roads. Tony the Marine (talk) 06:25, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
- I like the format used in the List of Interstate Highways in Texas. What do you think? - Caribbean~H.Q. 02:42, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
- Perfecto! Tony the Marine (talk) 04:28, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
- I began to put the list together, but this is massive, perhaps we could make it collective between three or four of us? - Caribbean~H.Q. 01:22, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Khriz y Angel
This article is in this project, however the duo is actually from the Dominican Republic (NOT Puerto Rico) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.59.132.184 (talk) 17:32, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
- You are right! Why would anybody in their right mind post a "Puerto Rico Wikiproject" in Khriz y Angel's talk page? I removed it. Tony the Marine (talk) 21:03, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
Please participate
The issue of weather it is proper to use or not, the flag of Puerto Rico in the article of the "Puerto Rico Campaign" infobox has come up. This one of those cases that I believe that it is important that others express their opinion in the Talk:Puerto Rican Campaign. Please participate.Tony the Marine (talk) 14:10, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
