Goleta English and policies.

Many of the pages on Puerto Rico have very serious quality, notability, and sourcing issues. I recently successfully nominated one such article "Goleta English" for deletion, on this basis alone.

I suggest we get our act together in this respect.

"Goleta English" was an egregious example: while it is a common slang term, maybe even an epithet use to insult people with pronunciation issues, and sources do use it in this form (ie El Nuevo Dia), the article alluded to the term as if it where an academic term, comparing it to pidgins, attempting to mention so-called "rules" of pronunciation, etc etc etc. That was entirely OR. Its use as slang and/or epithet might belong in Wikipedia on a list of such terms, but it has not been seriously researched because it is not a linguistic phenomenon, like Spanglish.

Please understand that Wikipedia has rules and guidelines which are not optional, and just because you think you know something, it doesn't mean that knowledge belongs here.

Please read the five pillars of wikipedia, and pay particular attention to no original research, reliable sources, verifiability, and notability.

As a general rule, if you have a publication or reliable website to back it up you can write it in wikipedia, but if you don't, you can't, even if you are 100% sure it is correct. I know that is hard, but I will continue random AfDs based on lack of sources and the massive inclusion of original research.
