Dayton
I took some pics of Dayton, Ohio this week and spruced up the article. They're not great, but hey, I spent all of sixteen minutes there. I'll stop by again when it's sunny. --Tysto 17:17, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
Ohio State
I'm traveling to Columbus, Ohio regularly. As soon as the weather gets a little nicer, I'll try to shoot some buildings and landmarks around Ohio State University campus at night (any suggestions?). --Tysto 17:17, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

Banner Template
I have added a banner template for this project. It advertises the project and should help the project to grow. I have also tagged many towns, sports teams, etc. with it. Hope this helps. Dan, the CowMan 03:19, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

Ohio Northern University
This article really needs some help, but I've been afraid to add it to Wikipedia:Cleanup's backlog until now. Now that this project is up and running, hopefully it can get some much needed attention and not fall through the cracks. -- SwissCelt 02:56, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
- This project is finally moving along, and I appreciate the contributions everyone has made. We will start going through the articles and working on them. Hopefully we will be able to improve the Ohio Northern University to Wikipedia standards. Ajwebb 01:54, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
Two Perrys?
I found a stub on Perry Local Schools, and realized there is another Perry school district... Perry Public Schools. Perry Public Schools are in Lake County. Perry Local Schools are in Stark County. Is there more than one Perry, OH? Any help appreciated.Fisheromen 19:13, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team cooperation
Hello. I'm a member of the Version 1.0 Editorial Team, which is looking to identify quality articles in Wikipedia for future publication on CD or paper. We recently began assessing articles using these criteria, and we are are asking for your help. As you are most aware of the issues surrounding your focus area, we are wondering if you could provide us with a list of the articles that fall within the scope of your WikiProject, and that are either featured, A-class, B-class, or Good articles, with no POV or copyright problems. Do you have any recommendations? If you do, please post your suggestions at the listing of all active Places WikiProjects, and if you have any questions, ask me in the Work Via WikiProjects talk page or directly in my talk page. To do lists
Why do we have an open tasks list and a to-do list? Shouldn't we focus our efforts on updating one of thoses lists? -- backburner001 15:49, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- The open task list was somthing I originally created. A user recently created the to-do list. We should probably consolidate these lists to one. Ajwebb 18:15, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
- I think that is a good idea. -- backburner001 17:27, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, the list was kinda empty compared to ones I saw on other State projects, so I thought I'd add a few. If I did so in the wrong procedure, sorry, but please tell me. But it seems like someone can remove the to-do list. Also, is there some special box/format we can use to integrate the "Open tasks" and the State seal and flag together? Cause at like right now, it looks kind of cheesy.... - A.J. 02:31, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
- I think that is a good idea. -- backburner001 17:27, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
- I did some work on the to-do list (aka the open tasks list) so that it's in one location (Wikipedia:WikiProject Ohio/to do), with its own talk page, cleaned up, and updated. The state seal is a moot point now, as there's some issue with its inclusion outside the article namespace (i.e. on project pages like this). The flag doesn't look too bad now, but if need be we can move it further down on the project page. -- SwissCelt 22:25, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
The article on Clinton Township could use some work. Can someone with some more Ohio knowledge than I possess please take a look at that? It'd be much appreciated, Metros232 22:01, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
- Started some minor work on this article, although it still lacks much information. Hopefully, now that I've tagged it with {{stub}}, it will get some more attention. -- backburner001 17:26, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
Cleanup of Cincinnati article
I'm not a member (I'm too busy with WikiProject Louisville as it is), but as somebody who is regionally close to Cincinnati, I am concerned about this article. The first thing I would attack is moving out its lists to separate articles. Look at what has been done to Louisville, Kentucky and related articles (as well as articles for Seattle and other cities) for some direction. — Stevie is the man! Ohio Civil War articles
I am involved in creating, editing, and upgrading a number of articles regarding Ohio's participation, people, and places in the American Civil War. I have recently created an article entitled Ohio in the Civil War and Morgan's Raid, as well as greatly expanding an article on the 1st Ohio Infantry. Much more to do however! Scott Mingus 02:11, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
- Finished articles on the 2nd Ohio Infantry, 4th Ohio Infantry, and greatly expanded the 8th Ohio Infantry article. Added new Category:Ohio in the Civil War and started to link existing articles to it. Scott Mingus 15:07, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
- Now working on several Ohio generals' biographies... much more to do there. Scott Mingus 18:19, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
De-Redlink Clarification
Alright, excuse my "noob-ness," but seeing as how Ohio is my first WikiProject, just a quick clarification... when an article is "De-Redlink'ed," (In this case, reffering to List of mayors of Cleveland, Ohio), that simply means removing the items from the list that link to pages that don't exist? In this case, again, that would mean keep the list in-tact, however, items on the list that link to pages that don't exist should simply just be the name of the person in text? I'm almost 100% positive, and I know everything can be reverted, but i'd rather get it right the first time. =) RiSK 00:16, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
- I'd like some clarification too. Do the red links need removed, or should they be given articles? --Rovership27 02:38, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
- That's really a judgment call. If you think you can write a good article on the subject of the link, by all means do so. If you don't think that the subject of the link is notable enough to deserve an article, you may want to remove the link. If you don't think you can write a good article on the subject, but aren't convinced that no one else can, then just leave it alone. -- SwissCelt 16:55, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
History buff needed
Please check out List of current and former capital cities in the United States and make sure that Ohio's capital cities are listed accurately. A word of warning: the page does contain quite a bit of complicated wiki formatting, so if you're not comfortable editing it, just post your changes on the talk page and someone more experienced will apply them to the article. Nominate articles for Portal:United States
I've worked for the past month to update Portal:United States and keep it better maintained. Though, I think the Portal:United States would be even better with broader participation. One way to do that is instead of choosing the "selected article" myself each week, if others would nominate articles and help make decisions. (same goes for pictures, though these are stocked up through July 29) If there is anything related to Ohio (or anything else related to the U.S. - culture, music, literature, geography, history, politics, ...), please nominate. I'd also like people to weigh in on the nominations and help select what should be featured. Thanks. --Aude (talk contribs) 23:36, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
New "People from [city]" Categories
Hello, everybody. I am the bozo who just recently created the new subcategories in the "People from Ohio" category. I thought that some of you might want to know why they were created, and why they often have so few pages in them.
The majority of the states have "People from [state]" categories which have at least 200 entries, sometimes over 1,000. This is clearly an unworkably large number for anyone wishing to use the category for research purposes. In 8th grade in Rapid City, South Dakota, the social studies class asked us to write, over the course of the year, reports on two or three people who were or had been residents of the city. Because of that, I have reason to believe that they could be used and probably are used for research purposes. To make such research easier, I looked at the list of metropolitan statistical areas and basically entered in one new category for each metropolitan statistical area.
I know that many of these categories might well be, in the eyes of you who know more about the cities in question much better than I do, misnamed or otherwise faulty. I apologize for any mistakes I may have made along those lines, and I would welcome any corrections, including deletion, that any of the rest of you might choose to make. With that in mind, I have also generally populated the categories with only one or two names, to ease in the process of deletion or renaming.
I thought you all should know why these categories were created, and felt some degree of responsibility for letting your know. I wish you all the greatest good fortune in making the coverage of your state in Wikipedia of the greatest scope and quality possible, and I hope that I haven't annoyed too many of you by my recent actions. Badbilltucker 13:33, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

The Great Seal of the State of Ohio
There is some controversy regarding the ability of Wikipedia to use the Great Seal of the State of Ohio outside the article mainspace. The following is reprinted from my talk page, and I invite those associated with this project to comment on this issue. -- SwissCelt 21:43, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
The seal underwent a design change in 1996 [1]. It is unlikely that the State of Ohio has released its rights to the image. Given the image is not old enough to have vacated the copyright, it is likely the image is still copyrighted. As such, we must presume the image can be used here only under terms of fair use, which precludes the use of the image outside of the main article namespace. Please see Wikipedia:Fair use criteria item #9. I've reverted your re-inclusion of the seal at Wikipedia:WikiProject Ohio. Thanks, --Durin 21:33, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- Per O.R.C. 5.04, the "seal" thus depicted is the official coat of arms of the State of Ohio. O.R.C. 5.11 prohibits "private seals" from being used as the insignia of the government of the State of Ohio; thus, the official coat of arms depicted in O.R.C. 5.04 (and revised, as you state, in 1996) is not subject to copyright. It is therefore in the public domain. (I will, however, refrain from replacing the seal until people on the Wikipedia:WikiProject Ohio page have had a chance to comment; see that project's talk page for more info.) -- SwissCelt 21:40, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- Ok I've reviewed the appropriate sections of the Ohio Revised Code [2]. SwissCelt cites 5.11 as prohibiting private seals from being used. But, I do not see anywhere in the code that describes the offical seal as being a private seal? Furthermore, looking at 5.10 it says, "The design of the great seal shall not be reproduced, except as required by any provision of the Ohio Constitution and the Revised Code, unless permission to do so is first obtained from the governor" and "No person shall use or permit to be used any reproduction or facsimile of the great seal or a counterfeit or nonofficial version of the great seal for any purpose not authorized by the governor." It seems to me that the State of Ohio claims rights to the seal and does not want reproduction of it without authorization. Thus, I think use of it here is under terms of fair use. --Durin 21:58, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- Heh, great minds think alike. I was just looking at O.R.C. 5.10, and typing a response when you posted this. See below. In the meantime, I'll defer to your edit, at least until we figure out how (and if) we can use the Seal on Wikipedia. -- SwissCelt 22:02, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
Uh oh. I just found something that puts holes in my argument here. Take a look at this excerpt from O.R.C. 5.10:
- The design of the great seal shall not be reproduced, except as required by any provision of the Ohio Constitution and the Revised Code, unless permission to do so is first obtained from the governor. The governor may authorize reproduction of the design of the great seal when the purpose is to:
- (A) Permit publication of a reproduction of the great seal of the state of Ohio;
- (B) Aid educational or historical programs;
- (C) Promote the economic or cultural development of the state in a manner deemed appropriate by the governor.
- A permanent record shall be kept in the governor's office of each permit to reproduce the design of the great seal.
- No person shall use or permit to be used any reproduction or facsimile of the great seal or a counterfeit or nonofficial version of the great seal for any purpose not authorized by the governor.
So it would seem I'm in the wrong here, and Durin is correct. In fact, I'm now not sure if Wikipedia can use the Seal in the article mainspace without authorization from the governor. We may want to look into that. -- SwissCelt 22:02, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- Under terms of United States fair use law, so long as the seal is used to illustrate the state of Ohio (which it is currently complying with, and complying with Wikipedia policy as well), then Ohio can not prevent its use, regardless of their claims of rights. Some companies attempt to control use of their logs in this way as well. But, copyright law allows such uses as we are using them here, under fair use. Thus, so long as we use the seal only in the main article namespace and only on articles directly having to do with Ohio, then we're ok. I've removed a number of violations of the use of the seal (and it's older cousin). It is currently in compliance. --Durin 22:16, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- Since we have used the seal to help promote Ohio and educate people in Ohio, we would be able to use it (even if I was forced to contact the governor). We should be able to use the seal under fair use. Thank you for all of the information on this mattr, I do appreciate it. Ajwebb 01:12, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
Akron Aeros
Hello. I think that Akron Aeros could use a cleanup. More specifically, the roster. What defines a "top prospect" and are the "Current Aeros who have appeared in at least one game with another team in 2006" and "Appeared in at least one game with 2006 Aeros but no longer with team" lists necessary? They're trivial. What happens to these lists in 2007? Other thoughts? -- Win777 00:59, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
- Agreed. I deleted the lists you mentioned beginning with the "Top Prospects" list. They clutter the article, are not timely, and are not cited. I would imagine that the "Top Prospects" list could have relevant information that could be included in the article itself (not in a list format) and other editors might consider adding cited information about it back. -- backburner001 22:56, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
Suggestions from the ABJ
Today's Akron Beacon Journal has some ideas for expanding some Ohio-related topics: Interested in writing something for Wikipedia? We have some ideas for you. - Well, I tried my hand at the suggestions for the Quaker Oats Company. I added to the article, created two new articles (History of Quaker Oats and Quaker Mill Company), and left room for the creation of an article on Ferdinand Schumacher. There's a lot of info out there that needs to be digested for these articles, though (and the Schumacher article needs written). Help would be greatly appreciated. -- SwissCelt 02:31, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
- I started an article on Harriet Taylor Upton. It's probably stub quality, but it's a start. If anyone would like to improve it further that would be awesome. Fisheromen 18:08, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
By the way, I've also written an article recently on Weekday Religious Education, a "released-time" Christian education program which was the source of controversy in Staunton, Virginia last year but also is active in at least two Ohio school districts. (Bellefontaine and Tiffin) If anyone wants to take on this article, they're certainly welcome to do so as well. -- SwissCelt 02:31, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

I want to add this article, but I'm a little weiry of notability. The library does host a museum for the Anti-Saloon League. Any thoughts? Thanks! Stubbleboy 00:33, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
- Notability might be a slight issue. However, a search indicates 346,000 results. It is also a library, which I feel deserves inclusion. I think it would pass the notability threshold, but hopefully we will hear from some other users as to what they feel. Ajwebb 01:34, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

I noticed that the population for the city itself looked correct. But when the article stated, "including the township 52,401," the article is incorrect. There are only 16K residents in Painesville Township. You might get 52,401 if you include the 16K residents living in near by Concord township as well? Crowded categories
I've noticed that several county categories (including those for Cuyahoga County and Hamilton County) are getting a bit on the full side and have become rather difficult to navigate, as has the category for high schools. Would anybody object to breaking down the high school category by county? - EurekaLott 02:22, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
- Explain what you have in mind for the many districts that cross county lines. For instance, should Defiance High School get two category tags, one for "Defiance County" and one for "Paulding County", or should it have a "Defiance and Paulding Counties" tag? ClairSamoht - Help make Wikipedia the most authoritative source of information in the world 04:11, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
- While that would be an issue if we were talking about school districts, I rather doubt that would be an issue with the individual schools, since the buildings are almost certainly in one county. It would actually be a reduction in the number of categories per article, since an article on a high school in Summit County would have Category:High schools in Ohio and Category:Summit County, Ohio replaced with Category:High schools in Summit County, Ohio. - EurekaLott 01:54, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
- Could you give me an example of articles about high schools that focus on the year the building was built, the number of square feet, the materials of construction, how many staircases it has, whether it's fully accessible to the wheelchair-bound, etc.? All the articles I am familiar with is about the student body and the programs intended to serve them. Project directory
Hello. The WikiProject Council has recently updated the Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Directory. This new directory includes a variety of categories and subcategories which will, with luck, potentially draw new members to the projects who are interested in those specific subjects. Please review the directory and make any changes to the entries for your project that you see fit. There is also a directory of portals, at User:B2T2/Portal, listing all the existing portals. Feel free to add any of them to the portals or comments section of your entries in the directory. The three columns regarding assessment, peer review, and collaboration are included in the directory for both the use of the projects themselves and for that of others. Having such departments will allow a project to more quickly and easily identify its most important articles and its articles in greatest need of improvement. If you have not already done so, please consider whether your project would benefit from having departments which deal in these matters. It is my hope that all the changes to the directory can be finished by the first of next month. Please feel free to make any changes you see fit to the entries for your project before then. If you should have any questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you. B2T2 19:14, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

"Notable Residents" spamming on city articles
I've noticed some odd additions to the "notable residents" sections in various articles on cities in Ohio. If the item claims to be "famous" (as they often do) but I've never heard of them, plus there is no reference and no Wikipedia article, I delete the item immediately. I also delete items that don't even attempt to convey famousness or noteworthiness, some of which might even be considered libelous (such as "major pot smoker"). I don't suppose there's anything that can be done to prevent this kind of spamming? Vid the Kid - Does this font make me look fat? 22:13, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
Another type of spamming I've seen in these sections is the placement of a very famous person's name on the list, apparently in an attempt to bring fame or prestige to the city or town, although there is no indication on that famous person's Wikipedia article that they are or were ever a resident of that town. (Examples are Eric Clapton in Hilliard, and John Lithgow in Yellow Springs.) I don't delete these because I don't know for sure that these celebrities aren't from these towns, but I am quite doubtful. Vid the Kid - Does this font make me look fat? 22:13, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
- John Lithgow used to live in Yellow Springs, his article used to say that he lives in Yellow Springs but that is no longer true and his article has been edited (check the history). Eric Clapton did live in Hilliard for a while, he had a girlfriend from there and his baby was born there. Maybe you could do a bit more research on people somewhere other than in Wikipedia before assuming that someone has added them to article for the sake of "prestige." I don't get why you assume that people have bad motives behind their editing. At the same time, facts should be documented, so instead of assuming bad motives, why not point out that these facts need references. Personally, I know a lot of interesting facts about things that have happened in towns where I have lived that I can't reference (or don't feel like taking the time to find references), so I don't add them to articles. It's supposed to be a encyclopedia, not a collection of hearsay, even if the hearsay is true. The references are what proves it is true. There is nothing wrong with questioning facts that are surprising (in fact, I think that makes you wise), and a reference would provide that the fact is correct. And to answer your other question, the font does *not* make you look fat, you look fabulous, darling. CRKingston 07:00, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

The debate is closed and the result was merge all to their respective locales. You are invited to help with carrying out the mergers; please see the instructions in the AfD closing note. - I have done the work of redirecting all the library articles included in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Adams County Public Library, including fixing the links from the branch library locations. I did some work cleaning up articles that I touched here and there as well, when I noticed something amiss. I'm not perfect, and I did it all by hand - so, if you want to check over my work, that wouldn't be a bad idea.
- In the future, I will try to stay out of trouble and involve interested wikiprojects when I am deleting articles, especially large numbers of articles. --Brianyoumans 03:39, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
Even More Libraries
I have proposed merging a number of library articles into their respective localities or counties. These are libraries that are either slightly larger or contain small amounts of information beyond the basic stub, but I think that all of them could be merged in without adding more than a couple of lines to their respective articles. I think redirects should be left in place, as with the articles deleted in the Adams County Public Library AFD. If people feel like improving the articles to show more notability, or object to the merges, please do so. I think if these articles are merged, the remaining library articles in "Category:Libraries of Ohio" will all be either very large systems, or articles where some attempt has been made to write an interesting article and/or show notability. --Brianyoumans 01:53, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
- My proposed "merger list": Muskingum County Library System, Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, Worthington Public Library, Westerville Public Library, Willoughby-Eastlake Public Library, Wayne County Public Library, Wickliffe Public Library --Brianyoumans 01:57, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
Wikipedia Day Awards
Hello, all. It was initially my hope to try to have this done as part of Esperanza's proposal for an appreciation week to end on Wikipedia Day, January 15. However, several people have once again proposed the entirety of Esperanza for deletion, so that might not work. It was the intention of the Appreciation Week proposal to set aside a given time when the various individuals who have made significant, valuable contributions to the encyclopedia would be recognized and honored. I believe that, with some effort, this could still be done. My proposal is to, with luck, try to organize the various WikiProjects and other entities of wikipedia to take part in a larger celebrartion of its contributors to take place in January, probably beginning January 15, 2007. I have created yet another new subpage for myself (a weakness of mine, I'm afraid) at User talk:Badbilltucker/Appreciation Week where I would greatly appreciate any indications from the members of this project as to whether and how they might be willing and/or able to assist in recognizing the contributions of our editors. Thank you for your attention. Badbilltucker 22:17, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
I have completed a major revision to this article and removed it from the To Do list (marked for cleanup). I expanded the content, added subheadings, references, external links and categories. There is room for more enhancments in student life, academics, and athletics. CRKingston 05:20, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
Great Dayton Flood
Hi all. I was doing some slight editing on Great Dayton Flood when I added a few external links. One of the links I found showed that the entire article content had been stolen from an Ohio history website. I commented on this on the article discussion page, and set out to right the wrong. I've completely rewritten the article and expanded it based on new research. The new article includes extensive references and I believe every fact stated in the article is referenced. Because it was the weekend, I was able to carve out some time to work on this. That won't always be the case. What is the correct action to take when I find a plagarized article like this? CRKingston 01:43, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
- Nive work! Very nice indeed. Some folks simply slap a copy vio tag on the article in question, assuming the original author (or some other editor) will eventually come along and fix the article. The problem is this wipes out all the article, not yet the plagarized sections. You took the right route - reword and rework the entire article. Thanks! Scott Mingus 13:44, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, Scott.CRKingston 01:29, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, if all of the article's revisions are copyright violations, the correct course of action is to place a copyvio tag on the article. Then, if you want, you can compose a replacement article on a temporary subpage. When the offending article is deleted, the subpage will be moved to the main namespace. See Wikipedia:Copyright problems for details. I removed the problem revisions from the article's history. Nice job on the rewrite. - EurekaLott 20:12, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks! I'm learning the hard way, but I'm getting there. I'll do it that way the next time I find myself in the same situation. CRKingston
County navigational templates
Over the past week, I've added navigational templates to articles on about fifteen counties in northwest Ohio, beginning with my native Logan. I've received a couple of messages from Ruhrfisch that I found helpful, and (on his advice) I thought I'd ask all of you your opinions. All of county templates can be viewed at w:Category:Ohio navigational boxes, plus the Wood County one that I didn't design. Two questions:
- What should be the image in the top left of the template? Since my design is literally a stripped-down version of the {{Ohio}} template, I just left the Ohio state flag image in there. However, a few other such templates had already been made on several different designs: {{Trumbull County, Ohio}} has a map, {{Summit County, Ohio}} has the county seal, {{Hancock County, Ohio}} has a state map with the county highlighted, and {{Wood County, Ohio}} has absolutely no image at all. What do all of you think is the best idea? I added a request for a Logan County flag here, based on this page, but it's not been fulfilled yet. Ruhrfisch tells me that there might be copyright problems with so doing, an idea I would never have imagined (after all, we have city flags for Toledo and Columbus), but I definitely don't want to cause problems.
- Should cities and villages be on separate lines in all boxes, regardless of how many of each there are? I placed all on the same lines, largely because most of the counties that I've done have few cities; however, I'm open to the possibility that this could be a symptom of my having grown up in an area with few cities :-) Should it be done like {{Hancock County, Ohio}} for all counties, or should there be an option for small counties to have one like {{Logan County, Ohio}}? Ohio regions, for stub sorting
After discussion with Nyttend, I've proposed subcategories for the Ohio-geo-stub type, which is now distinctly large, at over 800 articles. Per-county categories would be going a bit too far to the opposite extreme (though per-county templates would be sensibe for clarity), so I'm wondering... what larger regions would OH be most commonly, officially and/or well-recognisedly into? Youngstown, Ohio is currently at GA status and being peer reviewed. I would like to nominate it for FA status in the near future. If you could take a look at it and provide feedback, that would be appreciated. --Daysleeper47 15:26, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
Columbus-related article images
I am curious if there are some people on here with a few good images for some Ohio articles.
Specifically:
- Either the Columbus Zoo gate or good zoo image, possibly a Colo image as she is of considerable importance to the zoo.
- A good image of the exterior of the Greater Columbus Convention Center or possibly its interior. I recently created this article and would like to add a picture of the front as the design of this building is very relevant to the article.
- Easton Town Center, aside from the need to expand the history portion of the article, needs a good image of the front of Easton Station or another good picture. Also, the logo I think should be added, which I can do.
Please tell me if you have any or there already are some on Wikipedia. Also, if there are other needed images, maybe people should ask for them here and we can consolidate what we have. Thanks. Polypmaster 19:12, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- I may be able to compile new pictures of these locations. Thank you for the information. Ajwebb 19:49, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
I'm a little bit confused with this lake. Its surface area is 55 km² and it belongs to both, Mercer County, Ohio (water area: 26 km²) and Auglaize County, Ohio (water area: 1 km²). Something's clearly wrong here. --32X 23:08, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- The individual county areas have to be wrong. I'm sure that Indian Lake, in my home county, is at least 26km², and it's significantly smaller than Grand Lake St. Marys. Nyttend 18:16, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
Symmes Township Orb?
I just passed the article for Symmes Township, Hamilton County, Ohio while adding Census Bureau maps to township articles. Here, I read about the "Symmes Township Orb", which has as a source a UFO website. This website, moreover, contains a poor-quality but readable scan of a document from the Hamilton County zoning commission. Did this really happen, or is it a fake? It seems altogether improbable, and the document could be faked, but I obviously can't prove that. Could someone perhaps search the back volumes of the Enquirer for this? Thanks! New Cincinnati in the Civil War article
As an ongoing part of my work to expand, improve, and create Ohio-related Civil War articles for Wikipedia, I have recently created Cincinnati in the Civil War. I will continue to polish this article as time allows, but feel free to have a look at it and make suggestions as to further improvements or additions. Scott Mingus 14:43, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
OHSLA
Hey Guys. I'm currently drafting a page for the Ohio High School Lacrosse Association and what I can't find is a list of recent champions. If someone coudl help me out and get me a list, I'd greatly appreciate it. Lesserm 21:34, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
New articles
Dear Wikipedians, a list of possible Ohio-related articles found by bot is available at User:AlexNewArtBot/OhioSearchResult. Colchicum 15:03, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
Ohio State Baseball
The random article link took me to Bob Todd (coach) which I saw is an orphan article. I thought that I'd add a link to the baseball section of the Ohio State Buckeyes page but it doesn't have one. Could someone who is more knowledgable than I add the section with some info? Dismas|(talk) 03:36, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
Possibly useful map
I made a locator map for Minnesota. Similar ones are in use in infoboxes in state park articles (for example Van Buren State Park) or city articles (for example Elmwood, Louisiana). I hope this is useful, Ruhrfisch 15:40, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
Collaboration of the week
It's been a while since we had a collaboration. Therefore, I nominate Bellefontaine, Ohio for this project's collaboration of the week. I admit to partly selfish motives for this: I've put some amount of work into the article thus far, and was burned in a dispute over the article's assessment. However, that's also why I'm putting it up for collaboration: It's time for me to take a step back from the article, as of course nobody "owns" an article on Wikipedia. So how about it, folks? -- SwissCelt 00:32, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
Request for assistance: Thomas Pickering (Revolutionary War soldier)
I invite any editors interested in American history, particularly those with access to print sources, to take a look at the article Thomas Pickering (Revolutionary War soldier). One would think that the individual is notable, but the single source in the article seems to be the only information about the subject that is available online. For more details, please see the article's talk page. Thank you, Black Falcon (Talk) 20:15, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
Merger backlog
In August 2006 someone proposed merging 2004 United States election voting controversies, Ohio with United States presidential election, 2004, in Ohio. This has still not been resolved. Anyone interested can read the discussion here. JohnnyMrNinja 08:21, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

Expert review: WONW
As part of the Notability wikiproject, I am trying to sort out whether WONW is notable enough for an own article. I would appreciate an expert opinion. For details, see the article's talk page. If you can spare some time, please add your comments there. Thanks! --B. Wolterding 18:19, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
