Could I get some help from you guys on this requested move? Some people want to move it to Greater Netherlands, which looks like a valid move to me, but some others have replied that this is not correct, albeit with some very confusing arguments. If anyone could come and comment on the move, it would be greatly appreciated. -Patstuarttalk|edits 01:26, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Help needed on Fanny Blankers-Koen

This article is very close to retaining its featured status on review, but there are a few citations needed, which can probably be found in some of the Dutch sources listed in the article. Can someone please help? Thanks.

Suggestion: Infobox City

Is this group aware of the template {{Infobox City}}? Infobox City contains almost all of the fields used in the NL municipality templates plus a lot more. For example, here is how the box for Eindhoven would look (extra information taken from other language wikis). Just a thought. - 52 Pickup 10:46, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Good idea. It doesn't convert "cleanly", because of missing coordinates and other small incompatibilities, but I was planning a bot run to update populations; I will convert them to the Infobox City template at the same time. -- Eugène van der Pijll 17:37, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
Yes, it doesn't cleanly convert. One major thing that will need to be done is the removal of commas from some numerical fields (eg. population and density in this example), otherwise you get error messages for the conversion to Imperial units. The combination of the mayor and his/her party into one field is another matter, but perhaps that is a change that could be sugggested for the Infobox City template. Maybe, before conversion, I'll see what can be done on the Infobox City end, could you test it out and catalog all potential problems that conversion may cause? That should make the change a bit smoother. - 52 Pickup 20:43, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
The Infobox City template now has a separate field for the mayor's political party. It also incorporates the template {{Polparty}}, which makes it possible for you to give just the abbreviation of the party and it will give that abbreviation plus the link to that party's entry. I've updated the above example to demonstrate this. It doesn't have all parties, but it is easy to add to that template. For an expanded example of usage of Infobox City, see Amsterdam. - 52 Pickup 10:47, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Someone putting a merge tag on Wapenveld which is a "population center" within the municipality of Heerde. I'm not clear on what a Dutch municipality entails--is Wapenveld a town that deserves its own article, or is a region/neighborhood in Heerde? Tocharianne 02:33, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the notice; Wapenveld is a separate town with a population of 6000, so it can have its own article. I've removed the tag. Eugène van der Pijll 10:34, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the prompt reply. Tocharianne 14:32, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
