Task Forces

Hi everyone,

There are 22 members now and should make for a good WikiProject. There are a few things we need to talk about before we can all really get started. As you see by the title, task forces are one of those things. So, how about we start naming and discussing possible task forces. To help keep specific task force topic separate, each idea for a task force should have it's own title as I did for translation idea. Kingjeff 02:15, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Translation

To start off, I think it would be great to start a translation task force to particularly translate from German to English. We'll need people not just to do the translations but to copyedit the gramour, spelling etc Kingjeff 02:15, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

I can help since I know basic German. - PatricknoddyTALK (reply here)|HISTORY 12:02, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Sports

There should be a sports task force to deal with all the teams and players in Munich. I think the main thing here is really to help expand the articles related to sports. Kingjeff 03:04, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Yes, I agree. I can research on Munich sports. - PatricknoddyTALK (reply here)|HISTORY 12:02, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

The Drives

That might be good. - PatricknoddyTALK (reply here)|HISTORY 12:01, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Munich Portal

It would be great to have a Munich Portal. Kingjeff 03:11, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

Yeah i agree with that, is there a Bavaria portal?-- Hrödberäht (gespräch) 14:05, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Don't know about that. But you would probably need a WikiProject for it. I've already started on the Munich Portal. Kingjeff 15:38, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

Munich U-Bahn stations

We need to discuss about the format for stations of the Muich U-Bahn. What possibly can we add to a Munich U-Bahn station article? Kingjeff 23:38, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

We can probably get an entire task force about this. Kingjeff 23:45, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

Fellow Members

Hello! I'm just wondering who is still active within this project? I haven't seen much activity lately. Regards, WilliamH 17:00, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

New parameters for the Germany project template

Due to some changes in the assessment process, there are some new switches and new criteria for B-Class assessment. See the Germany newsletter for details. If you have further questions, please ask at the main project talk page. Thank you, Kusma (talk) 11:29, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

Munich Coat of Arms

I have done a complete translation from scratch of de:Münchner Wappen to Munich Coat of Arms. This is marked as Lesenswertig on the German Wikipedia, I'm hoping it can be a Good Article here too. I welcome any feedback. WilliamH 18:15, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

It passed its review and is now a Good Article. :) WilliamH 13:11, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject Munich

I have used WikiProject Munich as a redirect to the main page of the project. Late last month for some reason this redirect was deleted. I don't know about the rest of the membership, but I know I have used this on many occasions for invites and other stuff. I would like to have this for convenience. Here is what is going to happen. Members up to this point will be allowed to vote below either for or against. This result is the one that will stand. Kingjeff 01:58, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

A vote is pointless, as it is a matter of policy. Agathoclea 05:33, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
If you want to challenge the deletion, you need to go to WP:DRV; voting here is not useful. Try to use WP:MUC instead. Kusma (talk) 09:08, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

Does anyone want to take up the responsibilty for the Munich Portal? Kingjeff 02:02, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

Hockey in Munich translation

Can someone translate Hockey in Munich? Kingjeff 05:18, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

To-Do list

I'm currently working on a To-Do list on the main page of the project. I've broken down articles in to several categories. Take a look and see if any interest any of you. Kingjeff 18:29, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

Munich

Munich was a candidate for Good Article status. The main reason why it failed was because it lacks inline citations. I'll be working on it. Kingjeff 19:51, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

At the request of Kingjeff, I'll restate my review here as well. I failed the article at this time mainly for a lack of citations. This is a requirement for an article to become a GA based on the GA criteria. If you want to help improve the article, go through the various sections and make sure to add inline citations to any statements that may be questioned about their verifiability. I would also recommend that multiple editors of this project work on the article, as it may be a difficult task for just one person to add so many citations. The article looks great otherwise, covering the broad aspect, with some great pictures. Once you think you have added enough sources to back the various statements throughout the article, revisit the criteria to see if you are ready to renominate the article. When you get to that stage, let me know, and if I'm not too busy at the time, I'll rereview the article for you. --Nehrams2020 20:16, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
