Changes in Templates
Hi, I'm currently making some changes over on the WikiProject Motorsport Assessment Page. Look in the statistics section. Only 240 articles have the template WikiProject Motorsport on it. I'm thererfore going to propose something (I think this has been discussed a while back). Can every single Motorsport article have the template on it's talk page. My reasoning for this is that some drivers have only the Formula One template on the article. However, surely (by the way, this goes for virtually all articles), they haven't got to Formula One someway. They haven't just been thrown into F1, I don't think any drivers done that. They've gone through other forms of Motorsport. Therefore, surely the Wikipedia Motorsport template is needed for every single Motorsport article?. I'm going to do a vote on this (on this page, plus the Motorsport project and all the child projects) so we can get a decision on this. By the way, don't bother voting on different projects, as only one of your votes will count! Davnel03 16:53, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Standard width for driver infoboxes
There are numerous driver articles which contain multiple infoboxes, for the different series the driver has competed in. One issue is that the various driver infoboxes are different widths, which means that the infoboxes don't always "stack" neatly - contrast Olivier Gendebien (all infoboxes the same width) with Julian Bailey (different width infoboxes). The current infobox widths are:
- 25 em: F1 driver, A1GP driver, V8 Supercar driver, WRC driver
- 24 em: Former F1 driver, Former Champ Car driver, Former F3 driver
- 22 em: BTCC driver, BTCC alumnus, DTM driver, Junior series driver, Pickup Truck driver, Infobox racing driver
- 270px (which is very close to 24em): all the NASCAR driver infobox templates
I propose that we standardise the width of all driver infoboxes at 24em, to improve the visual appearance of articles containing multiple infoboxes. Please leave comments here. DH85868993 14:27, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
- Following broad support at WP:MOTOR, all motorsport people infoboxes have now been changed to a standard width of 24em. -- DH85868993 12:06, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
Color of the car of A1 Team Great Britain
I wanted to know the reason behind the choise of colors of the car of the A1 Team Great Britain. Please give your input at Talk:A1 Team Great Britain. John Anderson 12:34, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
Articles needing updates
The articles 2006–07 A1 Grand Prix of Nations, South Africa and 2006–07 A1 Grand Prix of Nations, Mexico still need to be updated with qualifying and race results. In some other articles, the fastest lap needs to be added. Please help. AecisBrievenbus 20:57, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
WikiProject Motorsport Library
I've made a suggestion at WikiProject Motorsport for a list of hardcopy references and who holds them, to help with referencing articles. This was prompted by the realisation that I have access to quite a lot of material which I'm not currently using. Please comment here. Cheers. 4u1e 16:45, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
inactive?
Oh, come on! Why inactive if we've made a full coverage of the two seasons (in real time - even WikiNews articles from time to time) and are fully prepared for the third?! Sure in mid-season it's a bit quiet out here, but that's not the reason to call this WikiProject "inactive"... --Yuriy Lapitskiy 13:32, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
Standings
I suggest homogeneize Standings table in season repports and Team repports. I've made tables for 2005–06 and 2006–07 seasons. Parts of these can be used for to complete A1GP Teams pages like this : A1 Team France. This table format is inspired by Formula 1 standings tables. Old standing table in season repports are maybe not usefull (contains errors). - Rollof1 13:58, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
A1 Grand Prix race articles
I pasted this comment from the talk at WP:MOTOR: Royalbroil 13:38, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Check Here for part of discussion.
- I am planning to AFD all of the A1 Grand Prix race articles. Unless A1 GP becomes really big, and possibly nearly as big as Formula One, I can't see much point of the race report articles with the series only been in existance for two years. Instead, possibly have something like this for the related season articles. No matter what though, I think the A1 GP race reports fail notability. Davnel03 12:52, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
- A1GP has more global interest/significance than IndyCar. Also note that the series summary you linked to uses {{main}} to link to the article about each race. --Scott Davis Talk 15:08, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
I'm going to start on adding sources and full race reports for each page.. DavidDTM 11:55, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
Congfu Cheng spelling
We can find on the internet several spelling of this driver : Congfu Cheng, Cong Fu Cheng, Cheng Cong Fu and Cheng Congfu. On wikipedia, we use (A1 wikiproject and also Formula 3) Congfu Cheng but I don't now which is good. This season, A1 official site use Cong Fu Cheng. - Rollof1 15:26, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
Category:A1 Grand Prix drivers
The Category:A1 Grand Prix drivers include race drivers but also some practice or rookie sessions drivers. This category should include only race drivers (drivers than have start at least one race). - Rollof1 (talk) 11:43, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- Maybe sub categories should be created due to lot of drivers in a1gp. A1 drivers can be include in categories like Category:A1 Team New Zealand drivers according to teams. Additionaly, a Category:A1 Grand Prix rookies drivers can also be created including only rookies drivers than never have start a race - Rollof1 (talk) 14:06, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
race report model : 2007–08 A1 Grand Prix of Nations, Malaysia
I've edited a complete A1 Grand Prix report : 2007–08 A1 Grand Prix of Nations, Malaysia with summaries, classifications, new infobox Template:A1GP race summary v2 for this 2007–08 season including notabily of fasted laps and qualifications and others race informations. I ask some opinions on this article, template... and especially a revision of my poor english. The goal of this is to suggest a race report model for A1 grand prix, at least for 2007–08 season, who can be assessed then. Thanks for your help. - Rollof1 17:38, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
