Saucesian Stage

[edit]

I tried to run down some information on this topic, but I could find little beyond a dictionary definition (with weak citations):

Saucesian Stage (22–16.5 mya) is a provincial western North America (Californian) geological time period in the upper Tertiary period (early Miocene). It is underlaid by the Zemorrian stage (33.5–22 mya) and overlaid by the Relizian stage (16.5–15.5 mya). The Saucesian Stage is named for Los Sauces Creek, California.

There may be more in a work titled "Miocene Stratigraphy of California" by Robert Kleinpell (1938), but I don't have access to that work. Perhaps somebody near a University science library may have more success? Thanks.—RJH (talk) 15:57, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
