MilHistBot (talk) 23:35, 4 January 2019 (UTC)
- G'day Hawkeye7. So all that has to be done is mark each one status=approved, and the bot will do its stuff? Cheers, Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 06:41, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
- That's the plan! Hawkeye7 (discuss) 06:55, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
- Hi guys -- I just double-checked and I recused as coord to review 6 MilHist FACs in Nov-Dec but they don't appear to have been picked up by the bot (some of these may have occurred before we agreed I say "recusing" in an edit summary for the relevant FAC, as well as mentioning it in the body of the FAC)... Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 07:02, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
- Hawkeye7, can I just manually amend Ian's FAC review number before approving? Just wondering if the automated award will say how many reviews were done? Cheers, Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 07:15, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
- Yes. That is the whole idea. Remember to change the award as well! Hawkeye7 (discuss) 07:19, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
- OK, changed Ian's FAC count and total, and the overall totals, and approved them all except mine. @WP:MILHIST coordinators: if someone could approve mine, we'll be done. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 07:35, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
- Consider yours approved. Cheers, Zawed (talk) 07:52, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
- G'day Hawkeye7. OK, that was completely painless, thanks so much for all your work on this! In addition to my request about adding the FLCs next quarter, I'm wondering if it would be possible to personalise it a bit by adding in the number of reviews when the awarding is done, and perhaps also change the text to "On behalf of the Military History Project, I am proud to present the WikiChevrons for your XX reviews at FAC, ACR, GAN and/or PR from October to December 2018?" or similar? Cheers, Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 01:49, 8 January 2019 (UTC)
- The awards run had never processed these awards before, and a minor fix was required. The Bot seemed to take its time over the award to EEng, and I feared that there was a problem, but I think it was just the size of his user talk page. I will personalise the text as you suggest. That is easy to do. (I also want to left-justify the right column.) FLC is a bit more complicated, but will be available next quarter. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 02:10, 8 January 2019 (UTC)
- <awkward downcast eyes> EEng 02:37, 8 January 2019 (UTC)
- Wait, I'm confused. I did an A-class review? Really? I must be losing my memory. When? What? EEng 02:39, 8 January 2019 (UTC)

- <looks at the logs> Okay, the MilHistBot treats anyone who comments on a review as a reviewer. Hence, Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Assessment/Apollo 11. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 07:44, 8 January 2019 (UTC)
- Wow, if I'd known advancement was that easy I would have joined the military long ago. I'd like a Purple Heart and two Silver Stars, please. EEng 12:15, 8 January 2019 (UTC)
- @EEng: My personal favourite is the Air Force Training Ribbon, which is awarded to USAF enlisted personnel who complete basic training. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 23:18, 19 January 2019 (UTC)

- @Peacemaker67: I'll added the code to process FLCs. There wasn't a lot of MilHist articles at FLC last quarter. You would have been credited for two additional reviews, but it wouldn't have changed your award. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 03:16, 14 January 2019 (UTC)
- Cool, thanks. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 11:20, 14 January 2019 (UTC)
- G'day Hawkeye7, could you please tweak the syntax so that the quarterly reviewing awards are created within this section as a ===level-three=== heading? I've implemented manual archiving, and wanted to create a permanent heading with archivable sub-headings, like the contest. Cheers, Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 09:09, 10 February 2019 (UTC)
- G'day Hawkeye7, the bot is currently listing new noms for the ACM in this section rather than the ones above. Probably needs tweaking so it knows where to do its thing? See [1]. Cheers, Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 08:35, 15 February 2019 (UTC)

- As part of the code to handle the level three headings for the quarterly reviews, I implemented a new class in the MilHist parser to teach the Bot about sections (previously it knew only about the templates). I've rewritten the nomination subroutine to use the new Section class, so this should resolve the problem. Note that the Bot expects to find a section called "Quarterly reviewing awards", and will place the new section at the bottom. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 01:18, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for sorting that out! Regards, Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 01:31, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
