Picture Hays, Kansas Sternberg Museum of Natural History
If there is anyone in the vicinity of the Sternberg Museum of Natural History, could you please get a decent image of the fish-within-a-fish? As famous as the fossil is, not finding an image on Wikipedia or in Commons is disappointing (although the latter is so hard to search, maybe there is one). It could go in the article I just started at Smoky Hill Chalk, and Niobrara Formation, and George F. Sternberg. Also, if you get the image, I will start a stub on the museum, if no one else jumps at the chance. --KP Botany (talk) 22:19, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Coordinators' working group
Hi! I'd like to draw your attention to the new WikiProject coordinators' working group, an effort to bring both official and unofficial WikiProject coordinators together so that the projects can more easily develop consensus and collaborate. This group has been created after discussion regarding possible changes to the A-Class review system, and that may be one of the first things discussed by interested coordinators.
All designated project coordinators are invited to join this working group. If your project hasn't formally designated any editors as coordinators, but you are someone who regularly deals with coordination tasks in the project, please feel free to join as well. — Delievered by §hepBot (Disable) on behalf of the WikiProject coordinators' working group at 05:46, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here.
If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the display=none
parameter, but forget to give a link to their alert page. Your alert page should be located at "Wikipedia:PROJECT-OR-TASKFORCE-HOMEPAGE/Article alerts". Questions and feedback should be left at Wikipedia talk:Article alerts.

GA Sweeps invitation
This message is being sent to WikiProjects with GAs under their scope. Since August 2007, WikiProject Good Articles has been participating in GA sweeps. The process helps to ensure that articles that have passed a nomination before that date meet the GA criteria. After nearly two years, the running total has just passed the 50% mark. In order to expediate the reviewing, several changes have been made to the process. A new worklist has been created, detailing which articles are left to review. Instead of reviewing by topic, editors can consider picking and choosing whichever articles they are interested in.
We are always looking for new members to assist with reviewing the remaining articles, and since this project has GAs under its scope, it would be beneficial if any of its members could review a few articles (perhaps your project's articles). Your project's members are likely to be more knowledgeable about your topic GAs then an outside reviewer. As a result, reviewing your project's articles would improve the quality of the review in ensuring that the article meets your project's concerns on sourcing, content, and guidelines. However, members can also review any other article in the worklist to ensure it meets the GA criteria.
If any members are interested, please visit the GA sweeps page for further details and instructions in initiating a review. If you'd like to join the process, please add your name to the running total page. In addition, for every member that reviews 100 articles from the worklist or has a significant impact on the process, s/he will get an award when they reach that threshold. With ~1,300 articles left to review, we would appreciate any editors that could contribute in helping to uphold the quality of GAs. If you have any questions about the process, reviewing, or need help with a particular article, please contact me or OhanaUnited and we'll be happy to help. --Happy editing! Kansas Civil War regiments
After a few weeks of work, I just completed creating articles for Kansas Civil War regiments (See, List of Kansas Civil War units). The articles follow an established format for Civil War regiments. If anyone has comments or suggestions, please contact me. This was a very enjoyable task. - Spacini (talk) 16:43, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
Hey Spacini I looked at some of those and they look really good. Keep up the good work! --ilamb94 (talk) 16:15, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

Kansas House of Representatives Members
Cheers, I finally created all the articles for the 125 members of the Kansas House of Representatives. If anyone has comments or suggestions, please feel free to contact me. --ilamb94 (talk) 20:24, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
Court House Photos
I propose that photos of all Kansas county court houses be added to their respective article, and possibly the corresponding county seat article. This would serve to beautify the article and serve as a visual representation of the county. Help is needed adding them to their respective county pages by adding the following to the County Infobox template
|ex image = courthouse image filename.jpg
|ex image cap = xxx County Court House in xxxx, Kansas
The following counties do not have court house photos. Contributors may want to cross them off once a photo is taken and uploaded. --Ichabod (talk) 03:19, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
Hello, could someone take a look at this article and remove anything they think is bogus? Thanks. Viriditas (talk) 05:58, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
- I looked it over and made a few changes in wording, added some links and one citation. Unfortunately, the references listed aren't in line and I do not have access to the references listed so that they may be put in line. All the material in the article looks to be accurate, as far as it goes. Cuprum17 (talk) 16:19, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
St. Francis Hospital
It appears that Ann Dunham was born at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. KAKE-TV published a fantastic report on the subject. I don't know much about St. Francis or Wichita, but if anyone has time to look into the details and gather more information about the decade Ann spent in Kansas, feel free to add the information to the Dunham article. Please also consider adding a WikiProject Kansas tag to the talk page if you think it is needed or if this project is interested in filling in the information about her early years. Thank you.
