NWSL Amateur Players
Hi folks- Is there a consensus on whether appearing in a regular-season NWSL match while not under contract as a pro (amateur call-ups while National Team players are away) is sufficient to pass WP:NFOOTY? I know a contract without an appearance doesn't count, but wasn't sure about the reverse. I was looking through this Women in Red list for names (and sources) for future articles, and found a bunch of players in this situation who have pages on the German wiki. I've never made an article, and most of these would probably be stuck at abandoned stubs forever on here, but it seems like there could be a "list of amateur players to get nwsl minutes" page? I think it is important that these players get documented somehow. Here's my half-cited list, with links to the German wiki:
- Molly Dreska (de), FCKC 2014 reserve, appeared in 7 May match
- Missy Geha (de), FCKC 2013-2014 reserve, appeared in 13 June match (and another?)
- Sarah Jackson (soccer) (de), 2015 Thorns reserve, 7 appearances (per German wiki), debut 25 April
- Cris Lewis (de), 2013 Thorns reserve, appeared in (at least) 1 June match
- Natalie Norris (de), FCKC 2013 reserve, appeared in 13 June match
- Michele Weissenhofer (de), 2014 Red Stars reserve, appeared in 18 June match vs Flash
- de:Allie Bailey: 2015 Dash
- de:Kelsey Haycook: 2015 Thorns
- de:Tori McCombs: 2014 Dash
- de:Kelsey Pardue: 2014 Spirit
Thanks for any advice/information! Cleancutkid (talk) 03:44, 21 May 2017 (UTC)
- N:FOOTY states players in NWSL "included" aka get an automatic pass. Per WP:GNG and WP:SPORTCRIT, I would recommend including secondary sources. Hmlarson (talk) 16:56, 21 May 2017 (UTC)
- Cleancutkid - I started Allie Bailey. Hmlarson (talk) 01:14, 24 May 2017 (UTC)
