Happy Holidays

I just wanted to wish Happy Holidays to everyone here in the project. I will be away until after Christmas as I am moving from Boston back to New York this weekend as I have finished my classes for my master's degree. I will then be spending Christmas with my family, not with Wikipedia. Gotta break the addiction for a few days haha. If there are any pressing questions, my personal e-mail is on my main page.--Chef Christopher Allen Tanner, CCC (talk) 21:45, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

T & A (Scope)

I just finished assessing the backlog of articles on this project and I have newly added a couple hundred more articles (tagged and assessed). Most of it was no brainer calls, but on a few I wasn't sure about the scope of the project (I went ahead and tagged/assessed, figuring the hinges wouldn't come off if labeled them "food and drink"). What exactly is the scope? How liberal is the coverage? Would, for instance, cooking utensils/appliances be covered? Cookbooks? Food themed movies or Tv shows (not cooking shows, but along the lines of Babette's Feast)? Cocktails and bars? I mention the latter since cocktails has its on Project, along with wine, cheese, ice cream, herbs (is it ok to tag and assess articles closer to those mentioned now that they have their own projects?). I am looking for some boundaries for the Food and Drink project so that I don't load the project down with articles outside the scope. I'd appreciate any feed back on this. In my opinion, anything that has to do remotely with food and drink should be associated, including film, radio shows, cookbooks, utensils, foods, dishes, restaurants, culinary schools and any other references. However, as you mentioned, we do have sister projects like cheese, wine, cocktails, beer, etc. that have rating capabilities. I think if another project that falls under our umbrella has rating capabilities, there is no reason to double tag and rate the article and as such they should be tagged with the sister projects ratings tag. However, projects that do not have rating capabilities like ice cream I would think should have our banner with rating criteria along with their banner as they do not rate articles.--Chef Christopher Allen Tanner, CCC (talk) 23:08, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks. that was my gut feeling for the project, but I just wanted to make sure. Jacksinterweb (talk) 23:24, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

Historical cuisines

After replying to a thread over at Talk:Cuisine of Hawaii it struck me that {{CuisineHistory}} could be expanded quite a lot by adding links to the more sizeable history-sections of cuisine articles. I've added a few already, but some feedback on how to organize the additions would be appreciated.
